Terrific ExperiencePosted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: See above
Location: Union Square, AT&T Park, the Embarcadero --so much to see and do is within walking distance.
The location, history, interior and exterior esthetics, the view, the room itself were all wonderful. And the staff was both friendly and quick to address any question or concern. We even loved walking up and down the hill as we explored the area around the Hopkins.

Overnight Stay by LocalsPosted Apr 17, 2015
Pros: The Top of the Mark is a San Francisco icon that should not be missed. Skies were clear and views were spectacular.
Cons: The breakfast had only buffet available and for light eaters like us, it rarely is worth the price. Would prefer to order off a menu.
Location: The hotel is within reasonable walking distance of Union Square (shopping) and the financial district (business and many restaurants).
My wife wanted to attend a display at the DeYoung Museum the next day so rather than fighting commute traffic in the morning we decided to stay at the Mark Hopkins the prior evening. We had never stayed there before. Very elegant hotel. All the staff (including the person who parked and returned our car) were very friendly. The first room was by the elevator but the hotel staff was able to find us another room some distance away without a great deal of trouble. Room was large and well appointed. It was very quiet at night. Although the hotel is definitely pricey, we will definitely return.

Top of the world, middle of everything.Posted Apr 15, 2015
Cons: Access for guests should not be restricted when there's a public figure staying at the hotel as well.
Location: Lots of restaurants, shopping and a doggie park right across the street, make this location perfect for a visit to San Francisco.
Overall experience was excellent. Only drawback, was Joe Biden happened to be arriving and staying here the same day we were. Motorcades, road closures and secret service packed elevators, made our stay a little less relaxing than what we hoped. Other than that, oh and ridiculously priced parking!!! Everything else was wonderful.

Intercontinental Mark Hopkins Thee Place to Stay!Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: Location, beautiful room, arm chair for reading, comfortable Bed, great showers
Cons: The parking was very expensive, the most I have ever paid.
Location: We walked to AT&T Ball Park (454 Min), Fisherman's wharf (45 Min), Cable Car Museum (15 Min)
We had a corner room with great views of the city. It is at the top of Nob Hill. We loved everything about our room. It was very well appointed, is a good size with a comfortable arm chair for reading. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the best we have ever had.

Happy But HungryPosted Apr 7, 2015
Location: Located at the top of Nob Hill...next to cable cars, cathedral, quiet park. Walking distance to Union Square and Financial District.
Overall, I had a very positive experience at the InterContinental - Mark Hopkins. Beautiful hotel, great views, extremely friendly staff. The only thing that I found to be a bit disconcerting was that fact that brunch was "sold out" on Sunday morning. Granted is was Easter Sunday, but I think it would have been nice if the hours that brunch were served were extended until ALL of the hotel guests were able to dine. I'd certainly recommend this hotel to friends or family.

The hotel was nice n the staff was friendly. The hotel needs a face lift/renovations ASAP! As it shows it age.

Perfect LocationPosted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: Great location and incredible views!
Cons: It would be nice to have a little store/gift shop in the hotel for incidentals.
Location: Although we could've taken cable cars, most of the time we walked to Chinatown, Grace Cathedral and Union Square.
This was our first family trip to San Francisco and we were so happy we chose to stay at the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental. It was close to shopping, restaurants, Chinatown and the views from Top of the Mark were unbelievable. We were right near several cable car stops so we parked our car and only used it once the rest of the trip. We would definitely stay here again.

Comfy bed but...Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: Fairly easy to get around, i.e., walking distance to a lot of attractions, cable car outside door, very quick taxi service.
Cons: Re-do and expand bathrooms or at least include more storage. Insulate windows for street noise from cable car line.
Location: Cable car line right outside door. Walking distance to Chinatown & Union Square.
Very comfortable bed but bathroom very small for 2 adults (about 5' x 5'). There was very little shelving or space for toiletries and personal grooming items. Rather noisy on the cable car line -- could use insulated windows.
