A Room With A View

Posted Jun 21, 2015
Pros: Earnest, the doorman who shuttled us, helped us find our way and gave us bottled water for our trip. He was kind, attentive and charismatic.
Cons: Notihng!
Location: Only a couple of blocks off of Market St and all the shopping. We ate at Umbria and the Daily Grill both a short walking distance and both excellent.
I booked a room at the intercontinental for my 60th Birthday celebration in San Francisco. We arrived early and were able to check in with the kindness of everyone at the hotel. My guest noticed a high number of security people and questioned what was going on. Turns out President Obama would be staying at the hotel that night. The hotel had left a letter in our room explaining what was going on and what they were doing to make our stay as comfortable as possible despite having to go through security check points and metal detectors. There was a perimeter set up a full block away from the entrance to the hotel. They ran golf carts back and forth to take guests in who couldn't or didn't want to walk. Every hotel employee thanked us for our patience and we appreciated all they were doing to less on inconvenience. Our room was immaculately clean, beautifully furnished and had a fantastic view of the bay. We were treated with respect, we felt to be valued customers and everything was perfect despite the limitations necessary during our stay.

San Francisco

Enjoyed it tremendously. Walking distance to everywhere! Unsightly trash abounds but most cities in America have that, and the homeless don't help, but don't hassle you much either.

First impression was very good, until somebody opened the door of our room. It was only 10 minutes after we first open the door and two individuals opened the door with a legit card key issues by the front desk ( mistakenly). We clarified the mistake, but than our keys got cancelled and we could not open our room!!! Hotel staff admitted their stupid mistakes, and provided us with a free breakfast. Besides the two incidents, good experience.

Great location

Three night stay for leisure, the hotel is located next door to convention centre and a large convention was on .... And they took over everything ... Bar, restaurant, foyer ... Which was annoying. Room Service was slow and the food was cold when it arrived. Overall the hotel was very good but not for the leisure traveller when large conventions are on.

Beautiful facility

Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: Fantastic corner room with floor to ceiling windows on both sides. Additional floor to ceiling window in the bathroom. Very comfy bed.
Cons: $54 for valet parking is a bit overpriced, even for SF.
Location: SOMA (South of Market Area) district in SF. The Irish pub across the street (Chieftan) is great for a beer and food.
Beautiful hotel in the SOMA district of SF. Immaculate, towering building. Reminds me of exclusive hotels that you normally find in NYC.

Nice Hotel

Posted May 20, 2015
Pros: It was very clean, staff were very friendly and lovely free shampoo and conditioner.
Cons: Hotel pool temperature. Layout of the room so the air con is not a the bottom of the bed.
Location: Great restaurant in the hotel, close to the centre.
I recently stayed at the hotel for business, the hotel was nice the Luce restaurant in the hotel is very good and the free shampoo and conditioner were GREAT. My only negatives are: 1) The hotel pool is VERY cold, I ended up sitting in their spa instead - this was a little disappointing. 2) Air conditioning in my room was positioned at the end of one of my beds, which meant when it kicked in I got warm air blown in my face waking me up. It mean I had to sleep in the other bed (furthest from the window). My colleague who also stayed in this hotel did not have the same layout.
