First time at the Palomar and we would definitely come back. The room was spacious (two queen beds) and very clean. Nice decor and fully set up with extras, like shampoo, hair dryer and robes in the closet. We were on the 8th floor and had no issues with noise. Close to shopping, Starbucks, restaurants, movie theatre, etc. Parked the car and walked or taxied everywhere. We didn't get a chance to try out the restaurant/bar, but it looked great. Overall, a great experience.

Loved the hotel and the staff was great. We were there for four nights and had several requests. They responded quickly to each request and met our needs well. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was excellent. Within walking distance of several nice restaurants and the ferry terminal. Public transportation, including the cable cars, was easily accessible.

Nothing special but very nice and clean hotel. Pet friendly. Streets around could be a little bit noisy (especially in weekdays). Beds are nice and firm. One thing I didn't like - had to pay for hotel parking :( . In overall I had excellent stay.

So many "extras" it's hard to list them all. Wall St. Journal, local newspaper, NY times, all available daily. Great location. Free snacks and drinks at 5pm. Free station to print boarding passes that was easy to use. The staff was fantastic. They said on the first day "Be sure and tell us if you need anything." They stressed that. And came though. There were a number of times we needed some help and they rushed to assist us (not connected with any hotel problem). Again, great staff.
The location is near perfect. This hotel has no restaurant or room service, but many places that will deliver nearby and many, many restaurants around the Union Square area ranging from Morton's and other pricey great food places to quick service good food joints. (Had several great hamburgers on the run nearby). The cable car is a short walk as is Union Square.
Only very slight negative was more than a normal number of fruit flies that showed up in our room from the moment we stepped in. As we were next to the area where snacks such as sliced bananas were set out in the morning and cheese etc. at night, we suspected there was probably some food such as the whole bananas stored nearby that had the concentration of the flies. We enjoyed the place so much that this did not bother us much.

This was my second time in 2 months and 3rd time overall staying at the Sir Francis Drake and I will absolutely stay there the next time I travel. Everyone from the valet to the concierge are warm and friendly and extremely helpful, almost like talking with old friends. I had a beautiful room that was spotless and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The counter space in the bathroom is non-existent, but that may be my only complaint. My party traveled to see a show and they handled our transportation to and from. The concierge's recommendation for dinner and drinks couldn't have been better! We even hit the Starlight Room and danced until morning. I highly recommend it. Next time I plan on making the wine tasting from 5 to 6. Also the location couldn't be better. It's right next to Union Square. The shopping is fantastic.
