Good location, but not much more.

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: Seems like the hotel in general can use some renovation, but then it would probably go up in cost.
Location: Location is on the main road rt 101 and has access to every part of the city.
On the main drag so it was very noisy to get a good nights sleep. We were not in the room except to sleep. Continental breakfast was just fair.

It was a great location.

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: The location.
Cons: Breakfast. Small things like real coffee cream instead of artificial creamer. Cream cheese for the bagels. A wider assortment of fruit and cereal.
Location: There are numerous restaurants and bars. Mit is on a good bus route. There are numerous markets.
La Luna is a good motel. It is in a great location, near restaurants, bus routes, and numerous restaurants, coffee shops and markets. The staff was warm and professional. The price is about right for the area. The breakfast is not really worth getting up for.

A cab ride away from attractions

Posted Oct 6, 2014
La Luna Inn was a quite, off the strip hotel. The room was clean and we had plenty of space. The staff was really friendly and the continental breakfast was small but perfect because we had planned to hop around the town and eat all day. My only compliant would be the shower pressure, there was hardly none. Also, we came during the hottest time of year, this hotel wasn't ready for the heat because the a/c unit didn't pump out much air, so the room got stuffy quite fast, the open window helped though.

Needed a hotel downtown

Posted Sep 23, 2014
If you need a downtown SF hotel, this is a good choice. I was meeting a friend in the city for drinks and I had a rental car. So, free parking and decent distance to Fishermans', Union, Mission, etc was quite useful

Great location

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Pros: Staff was exceptionally kind and very willing to help with any questions regarding the city.
Cons: Breakfast area was a bit small. Actually there was no room for me at breakfast. Not really an issue as you should try the many excellent cafe's nearby
Excellent for the price and close to many interesting venues.

nice hotel

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Cons: It would have been nice to have a couple chairs in the room.
The staff was very welcoming and made us feel at home. They were great about answering our questions and helping us get around town. The room was simple, clean and comfortable. It was a little noisy from the street traffic but quieted down later at night.

Good location

Very well located which you need in San Fran. It's very dated, worn but clean. For the price bracket it represents good value. If you want perfect then go pay 3 times more some where else. Traffic noise could be an issue for some.

Great location

Posted Jul 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
We chose the La Luna mostly for its location at the edge of the Marina and Presidio. The location is nothing short of fantastic. The motel itself is very old and maintained to minimum standards. Clean - yes, but the age shows. Rooms are missing a microwave. The breakfast offered is way to limited and almost all items require some sort of preparation which makes it total chaos in the small area set aside for it. Free parking, but limited availability. The hotel staff is very friendly. The La Luna is a good place if you just stay a couple of days. For extended stays I would look elsewhere.

Great location easy for bus to town, short walk.

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The location was perfect.
Cons: The tv signal was pretty bad, but I wasn't there to watch tv. It was only on while getting ready.
Location: Short walk to the Marina for uninterupted views of the bridge and Alcatraz. Great parks also close by. Close to MUNI line to town (1 block).
Arrived to find room 14 GREAT! Much better than expected and being across the road to buy travel tickets for the MUNI which was easy to use. Area is safe and quiet with shops, bars and restaurants locally, but if and when required, No. 30 bus to Fishermans takes 15 minutes and is within 5 minutes walk. The marina approx 5 blocks away is also easy access. Golden gate bridge is around 15 minute walk or less than 5 minutes in the car. Rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels left daily. Bed was large and comfortable and the self-serve continental breafast with fresh fruit, cereals, bread and crumpets with really good coffee or fresh juice was a good starter for the day ahead. There were toasters and a microwave for use and always ample butter/jam/marmalade. The staff were very helpful and I would have no hesitation using this place again. If hiring a vehicle, there are plenty of off street parking spaces both sides of the hotel. Nice place really.
