Motor Inn suits local car travelers

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Free car park but we didn't take this advantage.
Cons: Reduced the noise.
Location: Walk distance to Zig Zag Road, SF Art Institute, Fisherman's Wharf, rent a bicycle to Golden Gate Bridge, Marine time park, Fort Point Historical site
We chose the Motor Inn because it is near to every where we planned to go. We knew it could be noise as it is on a main street but the noise/sound of bus, cars exceed our expectation. It is only for sleep as we were out all day long, but we couldn't get sleep and had to use the ear block. Might suits young people can sleep in a noise place.

free parking big plus

Posted Aug 16, 2014
typical motel. good location to everything, free parking and wifi. Room functional, large and clean. Unfortunately carpets give out a stuffy smell and worst is the noise from traffic. Balcony doors don't have any insulation so it feels like sitting on a highway.

Noisy street- no sleep

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: Location to walk to Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 33 for Alcatraz, etc.
Cons: They need to improve in sound proof windows. Not sure how they can charge that much when you do not even get one second of sleep.
The only thing I liked about this hotel was the location. It was within walking distance to everything we wanted to do. However, our window was right on Lombard street and we didn't get any sleep all night. Thought we were on the Indy 500 raceway and it never stopped. If you do stay at this hotel - make sure to request one without windows on the street. I would only recommend this hotel for location only!!

walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf (20 mins), clean, nice room. Free parking, and let us leave the car there until 5 on the day we checked out.

No regrets

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Great location. Small facility so you don't have to walk forever to get to your room. Rooms are spacious and decorated nicely. Did I mention free covered parking?! The only thing negative would be the walls/floor/ceiling are thin so it's a bit like apartment living but I will definitely stay here again...

No Quiet Rooms

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Good Price for SF & Free Parking
Cons: All rooms on the Lombard Street side need to have double-pained windows installed. Lombard is busy all night long. It is very hard to sleep.
When I booked 2 rooms at this Hotel in May, I asked for rooms at the back of the hotel. The Lombard Street side is extremely noisy. When I arrived I thought that my wishes would have been followed. Unfortunately, they were not. The desk clerk said that they had no quiet rooms left and checked me into two very noisy rooms. I won't be returning.

Simple Convenient Hotel

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Price, parking and location.
Cons: Limited outlets in room for technology. No way to keep devices plugged in alongside bed or on nightstand.
Location: Good starting point for bike riding (many rentals nearby).
The hotel was easy to find, parking was readily available and check in was easy. The front desk staff was easy to work with and attentive during my stay. This hotel was exactly what it was represented to be. Nothing special -- but clean, in a good location and free parking. If the location is good for you, you have a car and the price is right, this should be the place for you.

Nice hotel near Fort Mason

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Stayed here because it was close to Fort Mason.
Cons: Very standard room although the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had been updated. Ask for a room away from the street. Street noise was loud.
Nice hotel but very standard, basic. Nice location although far from Union Square.

Not a bad hotel at the price

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: price
Location: Not bad location for the San Fran sights
We stayed overnight here and it was well organised with free parking. The staff were nice and helpful but it is a little walk from the piers. This isnt too bad going but coming back to the hotel was a little tiring
