Our First time in San Francisco
Posted Jan 10, 2013
Pros: Closeness to all the attractions by the bay.
Cons: A little bit of bling or sense of upscale.
Location: Eat, and eat great seafood. Tours to Alcatraz, walk to Ghirardelli Square, Pier 39, the seals, the view of the sea in the afternoons, everything!
We were told to that the place to be in San Francisco was Fisherman's Wharf and that's right. As a family with two boys the Marriott at Fisherman's Wharf had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Like any other hotel, some people may find some things nicer than another and there is always room of opportunity, but I will not complain about the little things because overall it provided all that we needed: a nice clean place to stay, safe and close to the Wharf and everything around it, attention and quick response, and family friendly environment. Had we wanted luxury, we would have stayed at a hotel 300 dlls away. The Marriott at Fisherman's Wharf performed and delivered nicely.

Cultural Fit Experience
Posted Jan 9, 2013
Pros: The service and workout facilities were definitely a plus!!
Cons: The rooms could've been cleaner.
Location: Close to many restaurants. Check out Codmother's, Boudin, Pier 39, Alcatraz, Coit Tower, Lombard's crooked street, Union Square and Chinatown.
The hotel is in a superb location in Fisherman's Wharf. The Marriott had extremely kind employees who addressed all our needs and concerns in a timely manner. We appreciated their efforts in directing us to all the major attraction sites. The concierge was quite knowledgeable. The workout facilities were great and provided water, washing/drying machines, fresh fruits and ear phones. We felt bad for the room right next to it (room #285) since the door always seem to shut loudly. The rooms were average and did show some wear. It could've been cleaned more thoroughly but was fine. I strongly recommend arranging for a taxi pick up so you can receive a flat rate. From SFO to the hotel cost near $65 with tip. On the return trip we arranged an airport shuttle with Quake for $11/person. There is a Walgreens a block away for water and other needed items. Bring your gym shoes!! As your feet can get you nearly everywhere but there are buses and cable car rides close by. People are extremely friendly so if in doubt just ask a local.

Great location in a a safe tourist area
Posted Jan 6, 2013
Very clean hotel, right done the street from fisherman a wharf and cable cars. Housekeeping did a great job cleaning our rooms when we were out exploring the city. Disappointed that they did not give free wifi and the restaurant was very expensive. Parking was also expensive.

Think Twice about Marriott at Fisherman's Wharf
Posted Jan 20, 2013
Pros: Good location. If you fly in to San Francisco the location is fine. I always fly so I don't know what they charge for parking..
Cons: Most every thing.
Location: Only place to eat at Fisherman's Wharf is Scomas. All the other restruarnats are tourist traps. I've been to the Wharf many times over the years.
Hotel is in a fine location. Hotel ammenities for a Marriott are deadfull. NO Roomservice! You can get Breakfast, but that's it. It will be delivered to your room. No dinning room except for dinner. Wi-Fi is expensive. It should be free for what you are paying for the room. The room was the size of a small dog gage. My dogs get more space when I board them. The bedding smelled of sweat. Not cool. They could clean better. The Hotel staff were very pleasant, but since there was nothing for them to do, I would be happy too! I generaly stay at the Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf. It's very good. I would go there. The price difference is not that different. I will not go back to the Marriott.

Clean!
Posted Jan 20, 2013
The hotel was pretty clean and the location was pretty decent. I wish they had a pool though. It was pricey but consider the location, it might be reasonable. Plus, I was late for check out but they were nice about it. I'd recommend this hotel.

Pros: Staff and the great rooms
Cons: Air Con was noisy but not a major issue. We thought the bottled room water we free as it was-not in the mini bar etc, not a major problem :(
Location: Great area
What a great base camp I would love to return soon :)

Great location and good price with parking
Posted Jan 11, 2013
All very good. Parking and location worked out great. Clean and comfortable. Bath a bit small, only big enough for one, but sufficient. Concierge recommended a terrible restaurant. That was our only dissappointment.

The only good thing is the location
Posted Jan 17, 2013
Pros: The location
Cons: Everything else
Location: Location is a short distance from the wharf
I will start this out by saying that my husband and I have traveled a lot and have stayed in a lot of places and only one other time did I write a bad review. This is the second time we have been to San Francisco and I can truly say I never need to go back. The hotels are way over priced and not really well maintained. The beds need to be removed and burned they smell. The pillows smell like greasy hair from other people. The bathroom is way too small for the size of the room. If you sat on the pot your knees could almost touch the door. I would rather have a bigger bathroom than a seating area that I would never sit in, because they sofa is so old and fadded and dirty looking. Last but not least the 50.00 per night extra for parking your car! The best part is they also charge you tax on that 50.00. Oh wait the other best part was when we went to go get our car from valet the young man told my husband to get it himself because he did not want to burn out the clutch! REALLY! and we should tip you for this?! Overall two high rated hotels The Marriot and the Hyatt can count us out from now on. If we wanted to sleep in a dump we would gladly do it and pay a lot less and know what we were getting.
