Mission Inn SF

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Safe area and very helpful desk service 9ask for the Greek lady or her husband. Clean.
Cons: new TV sets fix shower water pressure fix shower handles
Location: looks safe area
I just came back from this hotel. I reserved two rooms. The hotel is OK for those who do not mind to stay outside of downtown SF. The hotel is locates about 10-15 minutes drive from SF center. there is a metro to downtown SF 10-15 minutes walk. the staff are very very nice especially the Greek woman and her husband. The TV sets are old (need to update ASAP). the breakfast from 1-5 is 2 where 5 is high (no milk, no cereal, no pancake). some showers were broken but overall is nice and safe. I would go again. Udi

Needs Updating

Posted May 26, 2014
I needed a place close to SFSU and this was the closest I could find, only 2 miles away. The grounds were clean and the staff was very friendly but the room was not in the best shape and in desperate need of some upgrades. Upon walking in there was a very distinct and unpleasant odor. This was a non-smoking room but from the smell I would have to say that it wasn't always non-smoking. The carpeting was worn to the ground and paper thin. The single-pane thin bathroom windows leaked making the room so cold. Even with the windows shut you coud fel the cold air coming in. It was literally too cold to take a shower and there was no heater. There was a timer knob switch (which usually powers a heater) but turning it didn't do anything. The worst part was the bed. Every time I moved an inch trying to get some sleep the springs would creak loudly. So for a budget motel, you get what you pay for. This place works in a pinch if you don't expect too much and even though it's in an older neighborhood I did not feel unsafe (which is probably the most important factor to me in choosing a room)

Good place to stay if you have NO pets.

I booked my reservation through expedia and looked for pet friendly hotels, I thought everything was fine until ten thirty that evening when the phone in the room rang and I was told dogs we're not allowed and that I had to pay an extra 100.00 dollars for him. I was shocked and upset and didn't want to try and find another room for that price at the last minute so we met in the middle and I paid an extra 50 dollars for my doggie woggie.

Easter weekend 2014

Posted Apr 24, 2014
Pros: In a very quiet part of town
Cons: better parking.
Location: Location was ok. stores and fast food places where close at walking distance
The hotel is an older one on mission street. The room are comfortable with only 2 chairs to sit on when we had 4 to a room. The staff was friendly and courteous and helpful. the maid service was spotty as far as having enough towels for all of us and the timely manner it was done in. overall for the price it was a good place to sleep and spend the little time in the room as we needed.

Not friendly staff

Reasonable price. Grumpy manager. Clean room but very very outdated. Good cable channels but old small bazooka tube tv. Room smell that I can't explain. Parking good lighting. Will not stay again.
