With right attitude, truly an experience

Posted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: Funky Microwave and 'fridge in room. Staffer at desk very friendly and accommodating. Price was half that of "real" hotel on Nob Hill.
Cons: Repair bathroom fixtures. Sink drained at the speed of smell.
Hotel is about 800 years old, full of narrow hallways, creaky wooden stairs and rooms decorated in Early Depression. Some rooms don't even have bathrooms, just community toilets down the hall, and I could hear the people in the next room blink. Somehow, though, it was fun being in an antiquated movie set like that. Only serious downside is that there's no parking: You have to use a garage down the street.

Great economic hotel with nice location!

Posted Sep 1, 2014
The hotel surprised me, I expected the worst honestly, but it was good. It is quite, clean, with a lot of young people and students but it is neat and quite, the rooms are very clean. The location is good, it is a safe area next to downtown and bars and coffee shops. The only cons are - the hotel and the facilities are old, the lobby smells like old stuff and it looks really like it needs a make up. But the personel is nice, so I am overall happy with my stay

The staff is the worst! The hotel itself is fine I love San Francisco I enjoy the area around the hotel. There's a great bar right around the way it's called Ace's the bartenders and people in there were awesome, But as for the staff at the hotel they are mean and rude. I hate when people are mean and rude like that when I'm traveling it's a bummer. :( Just treat people the way you would like to be treated.

Nice room bad staff

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: the room condition
Overall the room condition was pretty good (given the price). The hotel is a bit far away to the city center and the main shopping area. The staff was terrible- not very helpful and i saw one lady staff shouting at the hotel guest.

Pros: Location and fridge. It was clean.
Cons: AC ,better tv
Location: Close to Union Square and China town, short bus ride or muni to AT&T ball park. Lots of good restaurants nearby.
Pricey for what you get. Small room, ancient tv .great location and the roo did have fridge and micro. No AC

$80 was what we paid for a same day rate. Community bathroom and sink in room. It's not your luxurious hotel, more like hostel...but ran by a nice family. No bedbugs. Decent.

Close accesibility to public transportation

It is an old, run down hotel that we stayed at only because it was the cheapest for the location. Rm smelled old and moldy and it triggered my husband's allergies and ruined our last days in SF. Should have payed more for another hotel so my hubby wouldn't have been sick. Will never stay there again.
