Charming SF StayPosted Jan 6, 2015 on Hotels.com
My boyfriend and I stayed for a just one night on New Year's Eve. This is a very charming and comfortable establishment with excellent hospitality. The breakfast provided in the morning was wonderful with quiche and eggs cooked to order along with an upscale continental style breakfast. We have continued telling our friends and family about our stay and would love to come back to have a "tourist weekend" in the city across the bridge from us as we live in the East Bay.

Had a great stayPosted Jan 3, 2015 on Hotels.com
The Monte Cristo isn't the largest or most spacious place that you'll ever stay, but the character is true to the age of the building. The food and beverages were great, bed was comfortable & clean, & the ambience was perfect.

Small place, big servicePosted Dec 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
The biggest plus for this small bed and breakfast was its accommodating and efficient staff. Although the hours are limited as to when staff is present, they made sure to address all needs. I would not hesitate to stay at the Monte Cristo again.

Convenient location in San FranciscoPosted Dec 6, 2014
We chose this for its location to all that SF has to offer. All was well except our first floor room was too warm (even with the heat off). Parking is street only with no luggage drop off area.

Lovely place with lovely peoplePosted Nov 24, 2014
We just stayed for one night, the next morning we were in a rush, a very lovely lady packed our breakfast for to go. We mentioned we were heading over to the Stanford-Berkeley game, she packed us some extra trek mix for snacking!! We felt bad that we couldn't spend more time talking to her, she is so lovely so caring! Carl was the front desk taking care of our check-in and reservation, very friendly and helpful person! They have cute vintage furniture, the breakfast ambience was cozy, we could always smell good food even when we were in our room!! Will com back!

Good neighborhood.Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: Cozy feel. Wonderful staff.
Cons: The bathroom lights were on auto and bright, so we just covered switches with a magazine.
Location: There were several good restaurants within walking distance and a nostalgic theater two blocks away. Shop art, antiques, consignment clothes, etc.
It's a very safe neighborhood that is close for exploring the Presidio. We enjoyed viewing the beautiful upscale homes nearby. Hilly San Francisco at its finest. Lyon St. Steps was a good workout.
