Centrally located, boutique hotel, European feelPosted Mar 10, 2014
Location: Asian Art Museum has a Yoga: the art of transformation exhibit till mid May-- great! Walk Chinatown.
Fun, friendly staff, room had fun lighting and a bay window. centrally located at the edge of Chinatown, International District Union Square and Civic Center, all a 15-30 minute walk. Breakfast was very good and the same every day: grapefruit/apple +/- banana, hardboiled eggs, granola/cereal/yoghurt, hot cereal, yummy mini pastries especially the mini chocolate croissants, sometimes still warm from the oven, and bread and jams/nutella. The crowd was friendly and from all over: Israel, Germany. .. I was on the top floor and it was quiet. It is walking distance to Powell street station (.3 mile) so easy to take the BART from the airport.

perfect boutique hotelPosted Mar 4, 2014
Perfect hotel for couples; didn't have a great view out the window but that was inconsequential to the fantastic the proximity to union square and every store you can dream of. rooms were modernly decorated, very clean, and perfectly spacious for the city. staff was super accommodating. i read the reviews before staying here about the elevator; not a big deal at all...it's an elevator with a door that is not the fastest. not a big deal at all! lovely breakfast. umbrellas at the front desk if you need. would def stay again.

Great hotel in SFPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: cleanness, friendly staff, and room decorations.
Cons: Street trash pickup noise at 6:10 AM woke me up every morning. It didn't bother me much, but other sleepers might be annoyed.
I stayed in this hotel for a week during the conference at Moscone Center. I landed at the SFO airport, then took BART train to Powell station. The fare was $17.30 round trip. After I arrived at Powell station, I walked to the hotel, took me about 10 min. Jason and Eric were very friendly and professional during check-in and check-out. I think one of them was on the job training. Moscone center was about 10 min away from the hotel by walk. The breakfast was great. I liked the non-fat yogurt, fruits, and boiled eggs. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who will visit SF downtown.

Boutique Hotel with lots of potentialPosted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Character, charm-hospitality staff was great! Restaurant was very good also.
Cons: a little more attention to customer service and being friendly and helpful. most hotels go out of their way, i didnt feel we received that here.
Location: Great location-right near all transit lines, shopping, restaurants, convenience stores-close to lines to get to Alcatraz, China Town, North Beach, etc
We love quirky, boutiqe hotels with lots of character. The Mystic had it in spades-Rooms were clean and charming, but incredibly small. The hotel itself was conveniently located and cool-old elevator-we loved it! Our room would be perfect for 1 person, 2 was really pushing it. One closet, no hooks to hang wet coats or towels. We were pleasantly surprised at the food in the restaurant-was very good. The area's we found lacking-My husband ordered a bottle of wine and cheese plate for our arrival-telling the staff it was a 50th birthday. the wine was there (no wine glasses, had it in the standard bathroom glass), no napkins or plates and no recognition of the happy birthday he requested. Also, we were told we would have a drink coupon upon arrival, didnt receive that either. Probably the biggest disappointment was Stacy, the front desk clerk who was always there and always borderline rude. Zero customer service skills, made us feel very stupid most of the time for any questions we asked-very unfortunate-it would be the main reason we would not recommend the hotel or stay there again.

Really cute, industrial-style boutique hotel.Posted Feb 10, 2014
Really great boutique hotel in a great location. The hotel manager was awful but that ended up being a good joke for our stay. The hotel staff themselves were lovely.

Old building with modern twistsPosted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: The people at the front desk are extremely friendly and helpful. They did not mind telling the tourist how to get places.
Location: This is in the heart of Union square area of San Francisco. You are walking distance from Market street, Mascone center and tons of shopping.
It is obvious this hotel is older, but they have put a modernized twist on things. The room was quite comfortable and clean. There was what looked like new additions in the bathroom, yet you still had that old downtown San Francisco feel with the floor radiator for heat at the foot of the bed. The bed was comfy compared to a lot of hotels I have slept in and I was spoiled with a bunch of soft pillows. If you like the smaller hotels with a lot more personality, you should definitely check this one out.

Don't stay on the third floor.Posted Feb 6, 2014
The hotel is nice, but they really need to do something about the noise. There is a restaurant on the second floor and they play loud music until midnight, which you can hear loud and clear if your room is located on the third floor. When I called to complain about the noise around 11pm they told me "oh yeah, it's from our restaurant...it will stop at midnight." It makes absolutely no sense to allow music that loud when the rooms are not sound proof at all. Luckily, they moved me to the 8th floor the next day. The staff was really nice!

Amazing location!Posted Feb 6, 2014
We loved the Mystic Hotel! It was in a great location within walking distance to everything AND right across from the Stockton Sutter parking garage. The ambiance was very modern and clean. Loved the continental breakfast. Highly recommend this place!

weekend in SF for a conferencePosted Feb 4, 2014
Pros: clean and cozy
Cons: Breakfast location and times need to be clearly written down somewhere so the guests are informed
Location: centrally located, perfect for shopping
Really nice, clean and cozy: staff very plesaant and helpful; professional behavior. One thing was strange: we did not find the breakfast location for the saturday morning breakfast, although this is included. We had it on Friday morning, and it was good. Maybe we were too earle, we left the room at 7:45 AM for a conference.

Great hotel for short stay!Posted Feb 4, 2014
Pros: Location, style and size of queen room. Good price, friendly staff.
Cons: Rooms can be noisy.
Location: Great central location.
Had a great stay at Mystic. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. friendly and accommodating attitude when I requested to move rooms because of street level noise. No fuss and was upgraded! Very pleasant hotel, great location, good price and nice vibe, would definitely recommend and stay again.
