Cheesy hotel If ur looking for drab and dark!Posted Jul 14, 2014
Cons: Pretty hard to pick up and move it, plus all the stuff I wrote about! Turn down the noise!
This hotel is dark n dirty in all aspects of the words! Not for a family, more for a party person or persons! Broken window and no AC in our room! No view to brag about unless your into looking down dirty ally's or the dark sides of an old building. A whole lot better out there for the money, I'm positive!

good hotel near all transportationPosted Jul 7, 2014
Location: Good location but far from Fishermans' Wharf. Walk to ON/OFF bus rides
Very nice hotel with included exceptional breakfast (silverware, plates, waiter and Starbucks' coffee). Staff and service very nice and helpful. Rooms are up to date but small. Reasonable price for city hotel.

Beautifully restored hotel. They combined the historical beauty of the building with modern artistic decor. The continental breakfast was simple but beautifully displayed in the lovely restaurant. Excellent location in downtown near shopping but at a quiet end. A retreat in the heart of the city!

Perfect locationPosted Jun 18, 2014
Pros: Cute clean room, nice bathroom and great location
Cons: Elevator update.
Location: Right in Union Square area so could walk to everything.
Room was darling and spotless. Great location with parking garage right around the corner and could charge parking fee to the room. Only negative was the elevator. The elevator was very old fashioned and slow so only took once and the rest of the time took the nice wide staircase.

Great restaruant and location but small roomPosted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Location, decor
Food was superb in the evening restaurant however the continental breakfast in the morning could have been better, especially the fruit selection. Great location. Our room was on the small side but from the floor plan on the fire escape chart, most of the other rooms seemed to be a bit bigger.

Pleasantly surprisedPosted Jun 14, 2014
Although it's very near the seedy Stockton tunnel, it's also very near the upscale retail stores and hotels. The bar and restaraunt are top notch.

Tastefully modern and cool decor. Ideally located!Posted May 31, 2014
Pros: Love the modern and cool decor. Tasteful modern art displayed. Loved the clever wineglass chandelier in the stairwell outside the restaurant.
Cons: Not that it can be altered but only one ancient elevator available but functioning properly and not in heavy demand during my stay.
Location: Ideal for the unrepentant shopper. Maiden Lane shops, Saks, Neimans, Barney's, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom's and Macy's are all close by. + BART & MUNI
Staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Lone front desk clerk was expecting my very late arrival at 2300hrs. Queen Room was comfortable and adequately sized for one guest maybe a problem for a couple. Tasteful modern decor. In room fridge for personal use. Burkitt Room Restaurant served an excellent continental breakfast including delicious warm from the oven mini quiches and usual pastries and hard boiled eggs which were a lovely touch. Dinner menu and service were terrific but marred by unexpectedly very loud but good jazz ensemble and louder party in the next door lounge. Could only stay for dessert. Looks like they also have non hotel guest clientele which tells you how popular their restaurant is for locals.
