Convenient Euro-style hotel

Posted Jun 22, 2015
The only downside to this hotel is the size of the rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely done, just small. The bar in the hotel is great. Based on the included breakfast, I would assume the restaurant is very good too. If you want to be downtown/Union Square area the location is great. I think th hotel could be loud in some rooms but we did not have a problem with that on a Satuarady night. Good value for the price.

Great experience. Watch out for noise.

Enjoyed the stay being within the heart of the city. It's near shopping and made for a good walk to other sights. Everything was pretty clean, free breakfast was tasty, and the rooms looked nice, even fit booking the smallest offering. The only downside was being in the third floor meant that you heard a thumping bass from either the bar or nearby club at night. This was tolerable but slightly noticeable even with ear plugs, but I also went to bed on the earlier side. The music did stop sooner on a weeknight though, and I ended up sleeping fine (just be careful if you are a very light sleeper). Overall, it was well worth the money.

Tolle Lage direkt neben den Union Square

Posted Jun 20, 2015

Nice hotel close to everything

Posted Jun 9, 2015
My wife and I just needed a room to stay in overnight after a day in the City. The Mystic is a great boutique hotel with modern amenities. The building itself is visibly older as many of the buildings are in San Francisco, but they've done great to upgrade everything inside without losing the historical character. Although our room was small in the sense of space, it never felt small as the room was furnished and setup well to maximize the space of a standard San Francisco boutique hotel. We had a great view, the room was clean, the staff was nice, and they have a great bar connected to the hotel in the Burritt Tavern. We had a great time and would love to stay again!

Good Hotel close to Financial, and Chinatown

Posted Jun 6, 2015
Pros: The room was clean, and had everything that I needed. The staff were also very good. And free breakfast.
Cons: The water pressure in the showers is a little on the low side, but good enough.
Location: There are plenty of shops, and places to eat. Near Chinatown and the Financial District. Also, right next to a bus stop that goes to the Presidio.
I was in town for a 5 day programming class, and this was one of the hotels that I found that was within walking distance and reasonably priced for downtown SF. I'm quite satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The staff were very helpful with recommending places to see and eat that were nearby, and with how to get to those places, as well as attending to other needs and questions. The room was clean (a must), and had everything I needed, bed, desk, and bathroom. The furnishing and styling is very modern, despite the hotel being in a very old building, with one of the few elevators installed in the 1930s left in the city. Speaking of the elevator, since it's old, the outer door has to be manually pushed open and sometimes takes a bit of strength. There is a free breakfast for the hotel, and satisfied by breakfast needs. I'm not a picky eater, but there were pastries, coffee, bagels, cereal, juice, scrambled eggs, sausages, yoghurt. All the standard things of a continental breakfast. All in all, a pleasant, and quiet experience, and a recommend.

Très bien situé , rénové au goût du jour . A +

Cheesy (literally)

Posted May 29, 2015
Pros: Front desk staff was pleasant. After all of the 'surprises' in our room, we did ultimately enjoy the complimentary breakfast the next day.ort
Cons: The conditions and the fact that none of the cleaning staff noticed the litter or food left behind by the previous guests - absolutely off-putting.
Location: Went to China Town, visited the fortune cookie factory, and did some shopping.
Entering the hotel was a pleasant surprise because we were greeted with a clean, newly updated lounge and reception area. We were also pleased by the manner in which we were greeted by hotel staff. Unfortunately, the positives end there. Upon entering our very small hotel room (without exaggeration, no larger than a 10x9 foot room) we noticed the shades were shut, not something typically seen in a hotel room. When we proceeding to open one of the two, we were greeted with a ladder leaning up against our window along with a filthy view of an alley. We promptly closed that shade. The other shade opening revealed to us a pack of cigarettes and a discarded Gatorade bottle on an old wood deck immediately outside our window. We no longer wondered why they were shut. A few minutes later I began to smell something nasty. I brief look around the room revealed several bottle caps alongside the bottom of the bed but it gets worse. Underneath the desk was a massive chunk of old, dry cheese, undoubtedly the source of the smell. Moreover, the carpet was in awful condition and seemed as though the previous guest was using it as an ash tray. You could say we were quite disgusted and unimpressed by these conditions.
