Post Hotel in Post Street San Francisco
Post Hotel had two main out of order facilities. The commercial bottled water cola etc cabinet was out of order and if as I did put in a payment and pressed a number to obtain a bottle it said unavailable! No deposit refunded! When reported the management was unhelpful. The Post Hotel ATM was also out of order.

No elevator, unprofessional stuff, I was staying in 4th floor 5th floor neighbors literally didn’t let me sleep 2 nights, reception guy locked the door of hotel and went somwhere, 5 guests were 20 minutes waiting outside to get in

Elevator was out, had to walk up 4 flights. Sign elevator was over a month old. No hot water in shower. When i complained, the desk said leave water running to 10-15 minutes.

Not stay here!! Bad customer attention
Elevator was not working. No one help me with my luggage (my room was on 5th floor and I had 2 large bags). For the checkout, receptionist told me night before that I can ask for help and they would have someone to help me... of course that the ext day when I leave (morning) there were no one that can help me. Kitchen was really Poor, hours to use, after that is closed. No fridge, oven not working. I asked for HOT WATER (just for a tea), and they told me that they haven’t..... I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all. No stay here!!!! I asked for a discount and they didn’t understand me (yeah of course)

Not worth the hassle
Staff was very rude. Upon arrival, I was informed that there would be a $400 deposit for a one night stay. I am a clean-cut professional so it does not seem that I was singled-out. When commented that the amount we unusually high, the clerk said: "well then you don't have to stay here." I chose to stay elsewhere as this was a sign of difficult owners. Five-star hotels do not require such a ridiculously large deposit, and this is an economy hotel.

Pleasant stay
I really enjoyed my two night stay. I had the small room but it was perfect with grid, sink, desk and tv. Bed was comfy and sheets and towels were surprisingly of good quality and the wood laminate floors.The hallway was vacuumed and the toilet was cleaned early each morning 👍. Reception was nice. Great location. It’s a gem!I will return.

I have been in many, many hotels in San Francisco and this may be the lowest. The lobby is unfortunately scarier than the rooms. The monitor with the dozen or so cameras scanning the hallways, the beat up copy of the driver's licenses of the previous customers barred from returning, the smell, the empty wire rack of free maps. I almost bolted. But, I didn't. And I wanted to see the room before I decided I could or could not stay. The room was surprising in that is didn't present as badly as the lobby. There is still an odd, not good scent (I immediately opened the windows), and I cannot remember when I was last in a hotel room that had no carpet on the floor. (and maybe that was a good think as the faux wood plank vinyl looked clean) The sink and faucet in the bathroom was a total surprise as they were new and super clean. The bath/shower looked nice. But, when I did turn on the shower the water ran out of the tub faucet so rusty for the first ten seconds it looked like blood! But, that stopped and it was a fine shower but with those devices on the wall for a squirt of shampoo and bath gel. If you are OK with "vintage" and many, many coats of paint on all the woodwork and the tiny ancient, caged door elevator this could still be the place for you.

From the moment I walked in, the staff treated me as if I were a nuisance. My room was crawling with bedbugs. When informing the front desrefused to do anything about it and actually asked me not to return. Do not go to this place you will be regret it!

I should start by saying that I've booked economical hotels before with shared bathrooms, but unlike the Post, they were clean and well kept. The situation with the rooms in the Post is not only that the bedrooms are dirty, but that the bed sheets ARE!! I had a reservation for 3 days and cancelled my 2nd & 3rd nights the first day when I checked in. The only reason why I stayed that 1st night is because it was late at night to switch hotels, but I barely slept in that place :(

Seedy area, hotel had a bad smell, didn't trust that bed and sheets and towels were clean, noisy people in the building. Shared toilet and shower facilities. An hour after checking in I asked for a refund for the (unused) second night and they told me that they couldn't refund it because it was already paid (which is a lie). I called Expedia and they made it right.

This hotel is a fraud. My credit card was charged theough Expedia and I was not even in San Francisco. When I called to dispute the charge, the hotel refused to refund me although their records showed "guest was a no show." So basically the hotel scammed my credit card information, charged my card, then admitted no one checked in to their hotel. The hotel collected their cost and fees from me while no one occupied their property and refused to refund me. Total fraud.

the location is good, it's next to union square, China town. and the walking distance to many attractions. the hotel is quiet, and I found out they have a large kitchen on the 4th floor.

Noise on the road of SF downtown can disturb some light sleepers. I was woken up several times in the night due to some sirens or even some people noise on the street and I was on 4th floor. I think windows can be more sound proof.
