Cheap near Union Square

Pros: Location, price, clean beds.
Cons: Overall hotel experience outside the room. No sink in bathroom.
Location: Near tourist attractions around Union Square, easy access to Tenderloin streets full of zombie-people.
Rooms are OK. Not OK for kids. Hotel is in renovation. Elevator has known your great-great-grandfather.

nice hotel right at the city centre

Location: So close to union square and lots of cafes and restaurants, rental cars and underground station for airport shuttle, all in walking distance.
Very friendly staff. Easy walking to all favorite spots of San Fran. Not a luxury hotel but very good value for money. Would definitely book again.

Nice staff however the rooms had no air conditioner and we were forced to leave the window open all night. Which meant listening to all the noise from the street. Couldn't get towels after 3pm because housekeeping was closed. And our faucet gave us problems. But it was a quick 2 night stay so we made do. Probably would choose another hotel if I were to go back.

The hotel is old but with clean remodeled rooms. The rooms are really small! Convenient location next to Union Square. The bad surprise was the parking below. Even though it displayed a fair price with the hotel coupon, they requested a very high price over the weekend. We found one instead on Bush street a few blocks away much cheaper.

Good location and value. Clean, basic amenities. Within walking distance to many restaurants and downtown night spots. Also close to public transport and major roadways out of town. Hotel is very old with minimal amenities but clean and comfortable, nontheless.

Avoid this place! It is a DUMP!

This place is the worst dump I have ever stayed in! If it hadn't been so late when I arrived, I would never have stayed. The lobby tells you immediately that this is a sleazy residential hotel where the indigent live by the week. The walls are paper thin, there is no elevator, the stairs creak and give when you step on them, the room was not even big enough to walk around the bed. My window looked out on a wall not more than 3 feet away. I CANNOT believe that Hotels.com would list such a place!!

Nice for a one nighter

The hotel had a nice room and we had our own bathroom so that was convienent, however the room was stuffy and extremely hot. The front desk service was friendly.

great value near union square

The room was small but nice. The ensuite bath was newly renovated. Very clean. The building is old and the halls and elevator are not updated. Over all the price and location make this a great value.

HORRIBLE SERVICE/ROOM!!!!

First we come in and the guy at the counter is about to fall asleep. Gives us our room key and we wait about 5 minutes for the ancient elevator to get us to the top floor. Get into the room and the toilet is out of order!!! SERIOUSLY!!! Don't you think I would need a working toilet in a room I'm sleeping in! Next room they give us the TV doesnt work and when I call them they refuse to help us telling me they cant leave the desk and the maintenance guy is gone. WORST SERVICE EVER!! AVOID!!!
