San Francisco tripPosted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: Nice decoration and period style. Sherry and cookies on evening. Internet worked well. Friendly staff
Cons: Air conditioning
Location: Location is good but a little way back from front but walkable for the fit. Bus stops outside. Restaurants near by as reommended by concierge.
Hotel was nicely decorated in period style, with slightly different style on each storey. The staff were friendly and helpful. We saw no sign of any ghosts (thankfully) despite ghost walks taking place from hotel and stories being told about room 410. We were able to walk to many parts of city from hotel (you do need to be fit to walk around San Francisco).

Very enjoyable stayPosted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: Nicest hotel of our 1 month road tour of America Having sherry and biscuits in the afternoon to sit and enjoy
Cons: With so many ornaments in some areas it did feel a little dusty
Location: Little bit out of the main locations but the bus route was only 1 block away
Arriving at this hotel was like stepping back into the 1920's. Very friendly and helpful staff, full of enthusiasm for their hotel on arrival. Room was big and cosy. All areas of the hotel were very quirky with lots of pieces of furniture, books, pictures and ornaments to look at. The fire's in the lounge areas were always on. A nice touch was to have a game to play to relax in the evening. The con-siege was also very helpful and informative.

Hospitable Victorian experiencePosted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Front-desk staff is superb. Best in class.
Cons: Providing guests with more in-room dining options other than the single service they currently use.
Location: Asian Art museum, local restaurants, St. Mary's Cathedral (way worth a visit inside), and the opera house and symphony hall.
I have never been so warmly welcomed at any other hotel in my life -- and I travel frequently! The staff went out of their way to make me feel at home, answer my every question, and help me further plan my stay in the Bay area. The room was incredibly beautiful and the lobby area exquisite. The breakfast was not an elaborate spread but more than sufficient. The 24-hour coffee station was very convenient. The hotel is within nice walking distance from the Asian Art museum and several nice local restaurants (ask front desk for recommendations). I DO NOT recommend the in-room dining option (take-out service). They took over an hour to deliver, only delivered a small part of our order, and then refused to give me a refund (and were extremely rude).

Quaint hotel but with deficienciesPosted Jul 28, 2014
While charming on the outside and comfortably located in a quite neighborhood, it had some noticeable deficiencies. Our room had no closet (a small rack sat in the bathroom). The television didn't work and repeated calls to the desk brought only frustration. However, the bed was comfortable and afternoon cookies and Sherry were a pleasant touch. This is not a hotel for demanding travelers.

Great B&BPosted Jul 28, 2014
Beautiful room, quiet, staff is great . Morning breakfast is just enough, and the 4PM Cherry with cookies is so cute

Easy to walk to many areas of interest.Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Staff was extremely pleasant and efficient.
Cons: Bussing tables at breakfast.
Location: Fill ore street is a great shopping area. Is also near Japan Town which has wonderful noodle restaurants.
Interesting old B&B with much history. Lovely lobby area for sitting and reading. Great cookies in the afternoon!

Lovely neighborhood boutique hotelPosted Jul 1, 2014 on Hotels.com
Lovely atmosphere and purpose renovation as historic boutique hotel. Good location for Fillmore Street and Japantown. Town car ride at limited times and to limited places was still helpful. A nice place to come back to at the end of the day, even if you are too late for the afternoon sherry, tea and cookie. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

Queen Anne a disappointmentPosted Jun 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is not worth the price. The entire facility needs a face lift. The carpeting is old and worn. Our room had duct tape covering the outlet near the desk making computer usage difficult. The signal strength of wi fi is so low that one is frequently disconnected. The breakfast was marginal with very little staff attention. The sheets were very old and off white from usage.
