Under Construction

Posted Apr 17, 2015
Pros: we liked how close to the wharf it was.
Cons: finish the construction.
Location: the wharf
Had we known the hotel was under construction and the jack hammers, grinders and the workers on the scaffold just 2 feet from our 4th floor window was quite troubling. The only elevator was the service elevator so we just took the stairs.

under renovation

Pros: Nothing.
Hotel under renovations. Had we known in advance, would not have stayed. Ridiculous room charges for the conditions. Room was poorly designed. No space in the bathroom to put your toiletries. No mirror in the room. Only mirror was in the bathroom.

It was horrible .

The rooms were very small for the price that you're paying . And the hotel was under construction so you woke up to a loud banging noise you didn't get to enjoy your stay . The rooms are very small and they did not look like the photo that was shown on the picture

Great staff, location on Fisherman's Wharf

Posted Apr 13, 2015
The hotel is undergoing major renovations, so I'm giving it a little leeway, but the room was cheerful and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location can't be beat.

I advise to steer away from that hotel.

Hotel is being renovated. Therefore there is no facilities. Noisy and workers all around the place. The rooms are dark and gloomy. Hotel staff treated me as if they are drill officers in the army. The parking fee is 65 usd. Considering the overall expense you may stay far better hotels.

Thank you very much for staying with us. We apologize for the lack of facilities and noise due to the construction. The parking fee of $49 tax is about the average price for overnight parking and we try to stay competitive. We hope you'll give us another shot once renovations are complete. Safe travels!

Under Construction

Posted Apr 11, 2015
The hotel is under construction until sometime in the summer. We paid extra for courtyard room with a balcony, but the balcony faces the construction. I would've been better off with a cheaper inner room. They offered me a different room away from the construction with no balcony but I would have to pay the same price. I don't remember any notices on the site when I registered advising us that the hotel was under construction...or that the work would start at 7 AM each morning. That would have been good to know. The only elevator that would get you to the parking lot was blocked by construction, so we had to take the stairs with all of our bags to get to and from our car. That was painful. Also, the site didn't tell you that they charge you $49 per night for parking in addition to the room charge. So, for $300 a night it was not worth it.

Construction isn't an excuse

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: EVERYTHING! Don't advertise sleep number beds, but then have beds that don't even have a box springs. AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
Location: Right on the Wharf
Room was not ready upon arrival for 4:00 check in. Oh, they had no problem taking my credit card, but they did not give me keys until 4:30. My reservation confirmation stated I had a room with 2 sleep number beds, but when I inquired why my room didn't have those beds, I was told that they had replaced the sleep number beds upon renovation. I asked for a Do Not Disturb sign, but it never came. I asked for more glasses for my room, they never came. I asked when I had to have my car out of the garage and was told I had until 6:00 after checkout, but at noon, the parking garage card quit working. I also emailed their Manager of customer service on my first night, and he still has not answered me. Finally, the front desk staff show no accountability for any errors-they only use the excuse of "construction" for every misstep they make. This is my first, and last, stay at this hotel.

Don't stay while under construction!

Posted Apr 8, 2015
Hotel is under costruction and rooms are not totally completed. Noisy during the day and halls cluttered with furniture to be put into unfinished room. Oncr construction done hotel will be nice. Great location right next to Pier 39.

Great location, currently under renovation.

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: Besides the great location, the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: The parking fee is high, but comparable to other lots. The main lobby elevators (currently) get busy. Use one of the other 5 elevators after check in.
Location: There is a stairway from the hotel parking lot directly to Fisherman's Wharf. Pier 39 just a few steps away. Ghirardelli Square is a short walk.
Have stayed here many times in the past. Can't beat the convenient location RIGHT on Fisherman's Wharf. Currently under heavy renovation, but things are sectioned off well. Currently no patio or pool, but that should be done soon. We were lucky and stayed in a newly renovated room which while not very big, it was laid out well. The bench seat by the window is pleasant for sitting in the sun. The elevators are definitely old, but functional. I'm sure these will get upgraded with the renovation. The bathroom could use more shelf space to lay out your toiletries. To get the most out of your parking fee, you can stay parked in the lot past your checkout time (until 6pm). But with the great location, you can walk to literally everything. We like to people watch from the top of the parking lot. Especially nice at sunset. Clear view of Alcatraz directly across from the hotel. We had a view of Coit tower and the Transamerica Pyramid from our room window. Dart board and backgammon set in the room were a hit with our son. The big flat screen has really nice HD quality (if you watch TV). Beds were very comfortable, but we were out all day so we came back dog tired, too.
