Close to fisherman wharf, great Italian restaurants, not far from start of race but had public transportation right across the street

Good location but hotel was under constructionPosted May 23, 2015
Pros: Room was OK in size and comfortable. There was some construction noise on a few of the days and a power outage for about 3 hours on one day
Cons: Almost everything! I'm sure it will be fine when the work is done - but worth far less than we were charged in its current state.
Location: Close to all the ameneties of Fishermans Wharf and ferries and boat rides to various locations including Alcatraz
Due to construction there were no facilities apart from the room. We understood we were going to a hotel with a pool, a lounge area, etc. Very disappointing. Am requesting refund.

Total renovation in processPosted May 22, 2015
Pros: The room was updated with plenty of charging stations.
Cons: Be informed that a renovation project was underway.
Location: Fisherman's wharf was right outside.
Horrible first impression, couldn't fined entrance due to renovation project. Major renovation was not mentioned by Expedia so was very disappointed. We were upgraded to a new renovated room on the water which was very nice. However, Maid service never came to clean during our first full day.

Good location but under constructionPosted May 22, 2015
Location: pier 39, fisherman's wharf
This hotel has a prime location for fisherman's wharf & pier 39. Be aware! the hotel is renovating. I stayed for 2 nights. On first night, there was continuously "banging" and "walking" sound above my room. I called the staff, he came up and said that security already warned the guess in that room; they're moving out. In the morning, 7am straight! Now it's a noise from construction, I asked to switch the room. Luckily, they were willing to do. The new room was great! So make sure that you ask for a quiet zone before checking in.

Major Renovations in progressPosted May 21, 2015
Pros: staff and location was great for Fishreman;s wharf
Cons: give reduced rates while renovating
Location: Fisherman's wharf, wax museum, AT&T stadium, hop on hop off bus, Ghiardelli
Hotel is undergoing MAJOR renovations. Might be nice when complete, but right now hotel is not comfortable. Dumpsters, scaffolding, workers, port s johns everywhere. Elevators often out of service, guests use service elevators. Room was clean, but not well appointed. No towel racks in bathroom, funky metal vanity, no place to put toiletries or hand a towel for reuse. Hotel staff were great, very apologetic and helpful. No pool, bar, restaurant.

Excellent location but under remodelPosted May 21, 2015
We had to call to find out where to park and register. There is scaffolding all over the front of the hotel on Beach Street and it was not obvious. Our room had a very nice view past the parking lot. We could see Alcatraz and the pier. Our beds were very comfortable. The remodeled bathroom has a pedestal sink which is unfortunate because there is no place to put toiletries and the towels were kept in a wardrobe in the main room. There was one hook by the tub for one towel. Perhaps it is not completely set up yet. We never watched TV and there was free WiFi which we appreciated. It did cost to park but we decided it was worth it for the convenience of having our rental car being close to our room and we could have gone in and out of the parking lot at will but we were so close to everything that we walked everywhere. I would not have paid full price to stay in this hotel. It is undergoing a name change along with the remodel. I think when it is finished and has a lobby and some amenities it will be quite nice. If you want to be close to the action along the pier and are mostly only going to sleep at the hotel than it serves its purpose well. If you are looking for a place to mingle with other guests down in the lobby, there isn't one. It is still very much a work in progress. It is right next to IHop and we enjoyed the convenience of eating breakfast there the two days we stayed in the hotel. I would definitely stay here again when I go to San Francisco, it was worth it.

It's not bad. But the elevator is really slow, we wait about 5 minute to catch the elevator from the third floor to the first. The room is clean and comfort, the location is really good.
