Tough week-end to find a room in SFPosted Sep 15, 2013
We were 'winging' it on this vacation, but realized there were very few rooms availalbe in SF. We booked this because it was the only one at a decent price we could find so we grabbed it. We were a bit skeptical about the area when we got there and they had pretty tight security measures (which was good), but we settled in and became sort of fond of the place. We actually found the location to be very good, only one block from the F line which took us anywhere we wanted to go. We would leave in the morning, stay out all day, come back to regroup around 5, then go out again, all using public transportation. It was clean, the owner was nice, not an expensive ritzy place, but all in all served our purposes well. Probably not the greatest place with children as there is no pool nor area to just enjoy and relax.

Dont stay herePosted Sep 10, 2013
Dirty room. Outside smells like urine. Centrally located, but next door to homeless shelter. Not worth the money.

It would have been fine but....Posted Aug 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
Booked this place last minute because a convention sucked all the vacancies out of the city. Would have been fine but the way the place was situated made it so every noise from the street sounded like it was occurring in my room. No sleep to be had.

alright placePosted Aug 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was a last minute trip and I got what I could. Not a bad place in fact I would stay here again. There is nothing special about this place except good parking.

No frills room in convenient location.Posted Aug 15, 2013
Pros: Great location and the ability to see your vehicle from your room.
Cons: The elevator didn't seem to be working but we were able to use the stairs.
Location: 2 blocks from the Civic Center with multiple modes of public transportation.
I have stayed here twice and will likely come back next year. There is easy parking, friendly staff, and clean rooms. I have read criticism of the location (homeless people, traffic sounds, etc) but have paid 3 times the cost to stay in different areas of San Francisco with similar results. It is certainly not fancy but can't be beat for the money.

Good hotel rough areaPosted Jul 27, 2013
Location: Very close to public transit which can take you near anywhere in the city
Our stay was pleasant. The hotel was clean and well kept. The only issue is its proximity to civic center which is known for many homeless. A few nights walking back from china town where iffy but the hotel it's self is very secure

I wouldn't book there againPosted Jul 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
On the whole the stay was okay. There was a bed and a shower, and that's the bare minimum of what I needed. For the price I would much prefer to stay at the Grant Hotel. I stayed at both during my trip and much preferred the Grant. My three main issues were the location, the filthy carpeting, and the extra fees they charge at the Rodeway.

Pros: close to transportation, close to highway, not too far from china town and fishermans wharf, microwave, clean rooms...Cons: no breakfast only coffee, limited parking spaces, $15/day for parking

One-Night StandPosted May 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was very secure and it was quiet. The desk clerk was helpful and pleasant. I had trouble with the lights, but it was so late that it did not matter.
