“Best hotel for the convention center!”
Definately a confortabel and good stay.
“Not impressed”
We stayed there for one night only, we didn't realize the room's air conditioning was not working at all until next morning. It was uncomfortable throughout the night and very hot / uncomfortable in the morning before we checked out.
“Great hotel”
My husband and I stayed for 4 nights. The hotel staff gave our extended family room near us which was convenient. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. Entering from the hallway, there was a large seating area with a door that separated it from the bedroom area. It made it extremely quiet so my husband could sleep if I wanted to stay up and watch TV. Maid service was outstanding-very prompt with attention to detail. Staff were helpful. On site restaurant was a bit pricey, but the portions were huge so a salad or sandwich could easlily be shared. Very ample parking and very little noise with vehichles coming and going near bedroom window. We were very pleased with out hotel stay.
“$20/day to park”
The hotel's mazelike parking lot is not the easiest to navigate. Adding a hefty per-day fee to park the rental car at a hotel that's 7 miles from the airport is a bit tacky. The room was nice enough, good Marriott quality. It's walking distance to the San Mateo County Fairgrounds. The location right off of 2 major freeways makes it easy to get to, and I don't recall road noise being a problem. In all, it is an OK hotel. If I need to stay near the San Mateo County Fairgrounds again, I'd consider it.
“San Mateo”
The room was clean and beautifully decorated. The odor that met us at the door to the room was repulsive. After we turned the air off and opened the window, this was alleviated. It is a good thing we did not need AC or heat during our stay, that smell was atrocious.
“Served the Purpose”
This is a nice facility with good access to the freeway. If that's what you want, and I did, that's what you get.
“Great value and comfort”
Second time staying here and it is still a wonderful, convenient place to stay. When we arrived, they offered us the choice of top floor or ground floor. The suite appeared clean although there was some minor stains on the shower tile. When we returned to the room the second afternoon after running around the city, we noticed that a 1 foot by 2 foot section of wall paper had peeled away from the wall. We notified the staff and they immediately set us up in another room. The second suite was impeccable and comfortable. The pool and workout facilities are very clean. I would definitely go here again.
“Nice”
Once inside the facility, I was extremely impressed with the size of the rooms, quality of towels, bedding, TV's. The room did not have a microwave, but they brought one for us to use. Was there 8 days for a conference and sightseeing. Only thing I was NOT pleased with was the frequency of the complementary shuttle. We missed our shuttle and had to wait an hour for the next one, so we missed our guided tour because the BART schedule did not coorilate with the hotel shuttle. Everything seemed to be, hurry, hurry, hurry up and wait a long time. Parking was so expensive in San Fransisco, we chose to use public transportation. While waiting for our hotel shuttle, there were some hotel shuttles that had come 8 more times before ours even came by. Area around the hotel was a little scarey out back, but they had good locked doors with key pad access. While out there, you could hear a loud drunk walking the sidewalk just singing away happily. A pretty fence would have been nice back there, but overall, I felt safe at all times. The front of the hotel looks out over the big highway, not too scenic, but okay. Meeting rooms were nice and spacious, Service was outstanding by all. Check in and out was slow due to the high volume of customers checking in and out. Whatever you do, make sure you bring your money. Everything cost and is expensive, especially in their resturaunt. I would have loved to stay longer if I had the time or money.
“San Mateo Birthday Holiday”
San Mateo Marriott really delivered! It has all the amenities it promised, from the complimentary airport shuttle service, to the reception, to the hotel room, and the amenities insdie the hotel. Even the food in the restaurant was good (I loved the chicken quesadilla, the minestrone soup - the tastiest and freshest minestrone soup I've had in a long time, and the Penne Vodka Pasta) - kudos to the chef! The only thing lacking was a refrigerator inside the room; I was expecting that. It only had a bucket that you can use to fetch ice from the hallway.
“Great Hotel Near Airport”
Check-in and out was very quick and service was courteous. There were so many amenities, I didn't have time to use them all. My room was spotless, clean, and comfortable. My only complaint was with having to pay $18/day to park my car, and no free internet service. But that is a small complaint in comparison to what I got for the price I paid. Would definitely recommend.
