Great Downtown Location

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Great downtown location , within walking distance to many attractions and shopping . The free morning coffee / tea and all day flavored water was nice
Cons: No onsite parking , across street parkade expensive .
Location: Hotel is close to shopping and downtown attractions .
Great and fast , friendly , check - in . We had arrived more than 3 hours early prior to check in , but we were pleasantly surprised and pleased that we were able to check in early due to a room being available .

Perfect Location!!

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Old world charm. Beautiful waiting areas.
Location: Walk up the street to the Grand Cafe, the main room needs reservation, but the bar area has plenty of tables and seating arrangements.
The room was comfortable and had a great view of O'farrel Street, great restaurants near by, a great spot to walk about. I will definitely be coming back.

Mom and Daughter Weekend

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Convenience to Union Square, personal attention by staff, super comfortable beds.
Arrived early due to flight schedules and staff cheerfully took our bags into storage. Staff was exceptionally pleasant and accommodating. Lobby very comfortable and nice seating areas. Electronic board in lobby to check in with airlines, check local restaurants, etc. Room itself was better than expected; beds very comfortable, lots of pillow selection, minimal outside noise, bathroom small but immaculate.

Good location for sight seeing

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Local hotel tax seemed heavy $20 per night.Free newspaper and coffee in lobby each dsy. 5min walk to tourist info office. Pick up a multi transport pass. 3days cost $23.hop on and off all day long.. Take a shared shuttle bus. This hote isnt listed so wasted alot of time. It should cost $15-17 per person each way from airpiort.

Very convenient to Union Square

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The location was ideal for our purpose.
Cons: Room service trays were left in the hallway at check in and still there the next morning. The elevator should have been room key activated.
Location: Ideal location for shopping during the day and dinner/theatre at night. If you are looking for San Francisco tourist attractions, centrally located.
Close to shopping, theaters, cable car, etc. We liked that the history of the hotel is preserved. Room was a bit small for the price, but clean and functional. Beware of add on extras: charge for parking was standard for San Francisco, but expensive. Hotel charge to cover internet, business center, etc was reasonable for a single day, but to add it on for each day was a it excessive.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your stay with us. We’re thrilled you found our fantastic location so convenient to the best San Francisco attractions, dining, shopping and entertainment. We love it here too! We’re sorry you encountered service trays in the hallway during your stay. We’ll look into that to ensure they’re picked up in a timely fashion. We appreciate all your feedback and will take your suggestions about a key activated elevator and the frequency of our standard Urban Fee under careful consideration. We love your appreciation of the beautiful, historic feel of Serrano and hope you’ll return for another visit soon.

Great hotel but very near Tenderloin district

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: Staff, decor & bar
Cons: Nothing outside of moving to a better neighborhood.
Location: Near bad neighborhood. Close to buses and close walk to Embacadero.
The hotel was very cool. Staff super helpful but not overbearing. Room was fine, small but you only sleep in it. The downside is it is right on the border of the Tenderloin district which is not conducive to walking around at night. Tons of homeless people and sketch bars. Luckily the hotel bar Jaspars is AMAZING. Hopefully Anthony is working during your stay. Enjoy a delish drink, the Tenderita. Please note, I live and work in downtown Chicago so it's not like the big city or homeless people were a new experience.

Pros: Clean, decent internet, great workout room and business center.
Cons: Coffee maker in the room.
Positive overall. The immediate neighborhood is a little rundown but its right in downtown SF. Close to everything. Room was not large but very clean. No coffee maker, that was a letdown.

Could have been better

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Cons: Don't make a room next to the elevator. Full size mirror please.
Location: It's in the north east and everything in SF is close to everything, aside from traffic that can make a 5 min drive into 20 min.
We got the room right next to the elevator. 417. I had to go to bed early and wake up early, plus I'm a light sleeper. I maybe got 4 hours of sleep because people are so loud. I guess I could have asked for a different room but that seemed like a lot of work since we arrived late and I was tired from a long drive. Next time I know better. There was no view. The wifi was good. Beds were comfy, showerhead had good pressure. Hot water was fast, fridge was stocked up and TV was nice and big. The lobby is pretty too. Don't forget to make use of the amenities like wifi, coffee in the morning, newspaper etc. You pay for it when you check out - $20 - whether you use it or not. We also pulled up for valet but the valet guy ignored us. That ended up being a good thing because we saw a sign that said it was $34 across the street, vs the $50 something. So we saved $20 because valet was lazy.

Good spot for my 7 yr old son and I

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Trey Lopez, the concierge was the all star of our trip...great recommendations for everything...he even printed our tickets for the Giants game off the stub hub website for us. The $20 urban tax per day was a disappointment. They say It's for the wifi and coffee...NOT COOL!!! It's not very close to fisherman's wharf or the ball park but it was close to the "BART" which is the local subway system. You can take the BART to and from the airport rather than a $50 cab ride. No snack machines that we could find in the hotel.

We love hearing when one of our dedicated team members is an “all star”! We’ll pass the praise on to Trey; it’s sure to make him smile. We apologize if our standard Urban Fee caused any confusion or inconvenience. It includes morning coffee and tea, all day flavored water in reception, morning newspaper, town car service Mon thru Fri mornings to the financial district, unlimited local calls and faxes, boarding pass printing, use of our bicycles, and very fast Wi-Fi. In our experience, guests appreciate one price, instead of separate charges for each item. Booking travel can often be a complicated endeavor as you try to compare and price a variety of hotels. It seems in this case you did not see details of the Urban Fee and we will address that with our booking partners. Thank you for sharing the great travel tip about the convenience of “BART.” We hope it brings you back our way the next time you’re in San Francisco!
