Nice hotel but costly

Posted Oct 12, 2014
We booked through Expedia for a king size room but when we arrived we got 2 double bed instead. Everything costs money there, valet parking was $55 for a day and extra $14 for wifi connection. The ac was old and it made a lot of noises throughout the night. On the good side it is close to everything but that's about it.

Pros: Location.
The hotel was rated 4 star. I would have given it only 2 stars. It was in desperate need of updating.

Dear Pa'Mela, Thanks for staying with us. We appreciate your 3 star rating. Our renovation was not so long ago with a somewhat retro theme. Some of our Guests love it and some not so much. We will count you in the later group and keep your comments in mind for future plans. We look forward to the next opportunity to serve you. Sincerely, Michael Hirsch, General Manager

Dear Jim, Sorry that your experience here was not all you expected. One of our best features is that we located right in the middle of the action. That also makes it sometimes hard for those more sensitive to sounds that all this activity creates. However, we are pretty good at working with our Guests to find one of our 531 rooms that suits their needs. Sincerely, Michael Hirsch, General Manager

Pros: I enjoyed that the hotel and room was clean.
Cons: N/A
Location: It is very close to Fishermans Wharf.
The room that was not inexpensive looked onto the roof of the hotel...therefor not scenic! The place is very close to Fishermans Wharf - a plus.

Thanks for staying with us. Glad that you liked our location. Sorry that the view was not better. All buildings in Fisherman's Wharf are restricted to four stories, so a view is rarity here. However, a block or two from here is Pier 39, Maritime Park and Gharadelli Square. It was our pleasure to serve you. Come back soon. Sincerely, Michael Hirsch, General Manager

A good place to stay

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Great find! We knew we we're going to be close to Embarcadero the, but were super excited to did that it is a block from the wharf! We're able to check in early, beautiful lobby, the room was clean and well decorated. Did not find the air conditioning to be loud as others have commented. The only drawbacks I would mention is $50/day for parking, $55 for valet. Coffee is available in the lobby in the mornings but they want $2.50 for it, for the price of the room I would definitely expect free coffee. And charging for wifi in the rooms is ridiculous, again I reference the room price. Luckily I have hotspot on my phone so was able to use that to use my iPad and not pay $15/day for internet access. Would have received 5 'stars' if not for the silly charges. Overall I enjoyed my stay, would gladly stay there again.

Perfect loaction to wharf

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: Location, location location!!! Friendly staff!!! Starbucks inside
Cons: Parking
Location: Pier 39, was distance to cable car and Alcatraz landing. There is good Italian restaurant up mason street..Walking distance to get on the bus tours.
Yes hotel is older but eeverything in San Fran is old.Room was spacious, bathroom small but manageable unless it's four girls to a room.Parking is a problem. If you dont want to valet your car there is meter parking all around hotel. The meters can be pricey but after 6pm you Can park or free until 7 am depending on street sweeping days. There is also parking garage across the street for 35 $$ for 24hr parking. The hotel is within walking distnace of pier 39. Concierge was super helpful with seting tours for San Fran like Big Bus tours.

You are correct that there are other options for parking. Please be aware, though, that these do not offer unlimited in/out privileges or 24 hour staffing. It was our pleasure to serve you. Never again

Posted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything
The place is old and small. The bathroom was tiny and only fit for children not adults. Also forget about bringing your car, as parking is $50 a day plus tax. We had to call to get the room made, at 3pm it still was not made. Never again
