Hotel right by the park

Good location in a cool area of San Francisco, different to staying in downtown...

Nice hotel

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: Most except the noise
Cons: noise
Location: Near Golden Gate Park
We had a room that was on the street just in font of the hotel and the noise kept us awake most of the night. A room off the street seams like it would provide a pleasant stay.

A quaint place...

Posted Jun 18, 2014
I made a trip to SF to visit my mom at UCSF, and it was close by and the room rate at the time was $179. When I had to go back a week later, the rate went up to $374. That aside, the wad a parking lot and McDonald's across the street and it was a pleasant place to rest after a long day at the hospital. The room was clean and the bathroom was immaculate. The one issue I had was that the complimentary wifi wad a bit temperamental. But not necessarily a factor that takes away from the lodging experience.

Okay

The hotel room was very small. Queen bed seemed smaller than a queen. Staff seemed friendly didn't have much contact with them. Parking garage ABC across the street was 20 dollars for 24 hours so that was cheap. Breakfast was great a lot to choose from. Overall with having a 9 month old baby probably wouldn't stay just because of size.

Excellent location for Golden Gate Park

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Location. Cleanliness. Comfort.
Cons: Table or desk type structure for business.
Location: Golden Gate Park, Bridge (Ghirardelli square, Fisherman's wharf not far away).
Very pleasant, boutique style setting. Sound proofing an occasional issue, but not surprising given the age of the structure. Had one night with particularly busy Hospital ambulance, nearby.

Comfortable hotel

It is an older hotel and is beautifully furnished . The room was comfortable however there was a slight mustiness. The hotel staff were pleasant and recommended a great restaurant nearby.

Grand old hotel

Posted Aug 4, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room.
Cons: Some of the furnishings are showing their age, but the overall effect was charming.
Location: Close to Golden Gate Park and Haight.
We found the desk staff to be very helpful and friendly, more than competent in handling our reservation, check-in and -out, and in booking transportation to the airport. The dining room provided a very pleasant breakfast. The rooms are smaller, as you would expect in an older hotel, but very clean and comfortable. Wish we had found the Stanyan Park Hotel a few years ago - we certainly preferred it to the name-brand hotels on Union Square.

Hotel was fairly priced for the location.

Pros: Location, size, style, and cleanliness.
Location: Restaurants are walkable. Golden Gate Park is across street with museums, botanical gardens, etc.
Hotel location for perfect for my stay/ across from Golden Gate Park. Hotel staff was helpful in location of neighborhood amenities. I arrived early and they made attempt to check in early and allowed me to store my bags.

A very good hotel in a slightly unattractive area.

Posted May 2, 2013
Location: The areais a little edgy: I did not feel entirely comfortable walking out alone in the evening amidst large numbers of street people.
The room's lack of a desk made working that much more difficult than I had hoped. But the hotel is in almost every other respect charming and pleasant.
