Great LocationPosted Oct 22, 2013
Pros: Location, cleanliness
We found this Hotel to be in a great area between China Town and the Italian sector. The staff is friendly and helpful! We can only highly recommend this Hotel and would stay there again.

Hope you aren't looking for a good night's sleep.Posted Oct 15, 2013
Pros: Can't beat the location (during the day). Very clean hotel, despite it being very old.
Cons: Soundproofing, new windows from this century or SOMETHING. I couldn't believe how loud it was in our room at night. New beds and/or mattresses.
Location: This hotel is right in Chinatown. Bars/restaurants in less than 3 min, Fisherman's Warf in 15 min, Business District in less than 5 min
Not sure how to rate or review this one... Pros: --location cannot be beat (during the day). Its right at the top of Chinatown, walking distance to literally everything. --room was very clean and orderly --quiet and strong AC --very hot water and clean bathroom --Staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming Cons: --literally the loudest hotel room I have ever been in. It felt like we were sleeping ON the street in Chinatown both Saturday and Sunday nights --Possibly the most uncomfortable bed of all time--platform bed with cheap mattress --No where to drop off or pick up on the street. Located on a busy street with very little room for pull-over

Close to most things I want to doPosted Jun 23, 2013
Pros: Not much from the outside, but a great spot, especially for the price on the inside. Pleasantly surprised with the room
Cons: We had a view of the rooftop
Location: Many bars, ballpark, social life within walking distance
Stayed here, went to a giants game, then out in north beach after. Within walking distance of bars, embarcadero

Good, not fancy place to stay in San FranciscoPosted Dec 13, 2012
Pros: Helpful staff, clean, simple yet nicely done
Location: Between North Beach and Chinatown. Walk to Coit Tower, Russian Hill, Nob Hill. 1 mile to Fisherman's Wharf, Moscone Center, Embarcadero.
I was initially a bit concerned about noise at night, because of the location of the Sw Hotel. But my room (and seemingly most others) faced onto an interior space, and was absolutely quiet other than a little bit of the usual "white noise" hum. It was clean, comfortable, and definitely a good place to stay. Some things were on the simple side; no pens in the rooms for instance (they had short pencils instead). The breakfast buffet is also simple, but very convenient. Nice downstairs room to relax or read the paper in; too bad it is only open at breakfast (as far as I could tell). I liked the decor and Asian furniture. The internet was a little quirky for my laptop, but the staff were very helpful in taking care of the problems. Very convenient location for accessing much of San Francisco.

I left my Heart....Posted Nov 12, 2012
Pros: The location to China Town and Little Italy
Cons: Why don't Americans use teaspoons? wooden sticks.
Location: the location - nice walk to wharf area.
We really enjoyed out time at the SW Hotel. It dosen't look much from the street but it certainly has very clean and comfortable rooms. We only stayed 2 days and I believe another day would have been better. So much to see and do in San Fran and the restaurants fantastic.

Small but efficent...with a small per day surprisePosted Jul 6, 2012
Pros: Hotel room was clean.
Cons: I was totally caught off guard by the $30 per day parking fee!
Location: Not a family friendly location, but independent business travel...OK
The Hotel Entry was less than I expected. But as previous reviews stated even though the rooms were small they were clean and efficient. However I was VERY disappointed when I checked in and found out about the $30 per day Parking fee! It was not notated anywhere on any website in the description of the property. This was the main heartache I had. Other than this, hotel was just as subscribed previously.
