Clean Hotel central locationPosted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: We love love the location perfect for what we wanted to see and do. One of our favorite restaurants for breakfast is in little Italy.
Cons: Next time we know to ask for an inside room, don't know why they gave us that room I'm pretty sure that we weren't the only ones that have complain.
Location: Little Italy, Pier 39, China Town
Love the room decor very clean, but wish our room was not facing the street. Very noisy people out late yelling and police sirens did not sleep well. We told the front desk they didn't seem to be concern, not even a " sorry to hear about that". Maybe they could of not charge us for the parking. Don't know if we were given that room because we paid a low rate. Pretty sure we weren't the only ones that have complain of how loud and noisy it was.

Good location and valuePosted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: Location, affordability and cleanliness.
Location: Within walking distance of financial district, Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf. Located in Chinatown and right next to Little Italy.
SF hotels are very expensive this summer and this hotel fit into our budget. While it's not luxurious, it was clean, fair updated and pleasant. I would stay here again and recommend to others. Free continental breakfast and in room mini-fridge.

Close to Beach Blanket BabylonPosted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Location and reasonable rates
Cons: No coffee in the rooms - and the meager complimentary breakfast is best skipped. Very limited parking can be a serious problem - and it's pricey!
Location: North Beach - Beach Blanket Babylon - China Town
Located where China Town, Japan Town and North Beach all converge. Excellent choice if you want to enjoy Beach Blanket Babylon. Surprisingly large rooms for San Francisco - and very clean too.

Good room for price in great areaPosted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: Clean and big room, friendly staff, good area
The room was big and clean in an area in between Chinatown and north beach and close to lots of attractions. Though expensive, it was much cheaper than other hotels not too far away. Free breakfast and wifi.

Small room, big pricePosted May 26, 2014
Our room was very small, and we payed more than we have for any non-luxury hotel yet! Free parking turned into another 30.00 cost. Never again!!!

If you just need a bed & bathroom this is itPosted Apr 21, 2014
Close enough to walk to all tourist destinations. Deep in China Town - deep. Heaps of strip joints just down the road if you're into that kind of thing. Ok value for money.

Hidden Gem on Edge of ChinatownPosted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: Convenient underground parking at a reasonable rate, free wifi, free breakfast (and more than just coffee, tea, juice & toast), clean, quiet rooms.
Cons: Signage in hallways pointing the way to rooms is overly confusing.
Location: Edge of Chinatown, within easy walking distance to Financial District and North Beach. Great eats close by. City Lights Books is around the corner!
I needed to find a hotel nearby the financial district where I was attending a conference (but the conference hotel was sold out). The SW Hotel fit the bill -- only a 5 minute walk from the Hilton Fin. District -- and very affordable. I have stayed here before, so knew what to expect, but other first-time visitors might be pleased to know the SW Hotel provides a welcome, peaceful respite in the midst of the hubbub of some of San Francisco's must-see attractions.

Absolutely pleasant and comfortablePosted Jan 31, 2014
I was very pleased with this hotel. It's in a great spot, walking distance from most locations if you pack the right pair of shoes (I walked to the Embarcadero, Coit Tower, Union Square and Market St). Travelling alone, I quite liked the China Town location, which was always well-populated and non-threatening. It's also very authentic and interesting marketplace, a tourist destination in its own right. As well as the endless Asian food on offer, there are also some nice Western restaurants and bars nearby on Columbus St, as well as typical pub fare and takeaway food. I was here midweek in winter, and it was very quiet. I hardly saw another guest, but the staff were always available. The complementary breakfast was simple and good: various breads and spreads and cereals, with fruit and boiled eggs, tea and coffee. If you want a big fry-up, though, you might have to go all the way across the road! My room wasn't huge but big enough. I slept very well in the bed. The bathroom had a vintage look but was immaculately clean: not so much as a speck of dirt anywhere in the fittings or grout. It was small but pleasant to use. Overall, I was very comfortable staying here and couldn't ask for more at this price. My only gripe was that the hair-dryer didn't work.

Just Ok!Posted Jan 7, 2014
The hotel was ok. Located in a busy location in San Francisco, you may even pass by it a couple of times and not even notice it. The first room I was given had a broken window which was left open, causing the room to smell like Chinese food since a couple of Chinese food locations were directly under the window in an adjacent building. When calling down to the front desk, they were quick to send someone up with a new room key for a different room which I thought was nice. The rooms are somewhat decent, however no good views!
