“Donatello”

My wife and I travelled to San Francisco on 2/19 to be with our son and his family as they waited for the arrival of their second child (born on 3/1). We stayed with our son until 3/9 when the second set of grandparents moved in and we moved to the Donatello. We've stayed at several hotels in San Francisco including the Fairmont and the Westin St. Francis and I can't say that either of those was materially a better stay than the Donatello. The room was spacious, clean, well serviced, and the club room (for coffee, tea, a paper, etc.) provided a nice way to finish up the day. We spent one day shopping and found the hotel very conveniently located. We also used the Muni to go to our son's house and that too was very convenient. We certainly will consider staying here in the future when we visit San Francisco.

“Perfect Hotel and Location!”

The room was sooooo spacious and clean, with windows all along one side, view of street/Union Square. Loved the frig/microwave/coffee area, with plates & utensils for eating in. We had a sofa, sitting area that made the room for 3 very comfortable. We'd return in a minute! Also, the concierge & registration staff were all above expectations!!

A real gem of a hotel with rooms larger than you could expect in San Francisco. Had a de luxe king room that had lounge and dining area and wet bar, plus dressing room, and of course en suite facilities. Breakfast in the The Donatello club on the top floor was more than adequate (and included in price as was free internet access)and the hotel staff were both friendly and very helpful. Location for shopping and business excellent and just a few steps from the cable cars

“I recommend this hotel”

I've stayed at this property many times and this time was by far the best. The staff was very accommodating from the front desk to the bell desk. It's so convenient to Union Square and the theaters. We love having a microwave and a refrigerator in the room. Sometimes the nightclub across the street can get a little noisy, but generally only on the weekends.

“Great location, comfortable room”

I stayed four nights and really enjoyed the Donatello, which had continental breakfast, a (small) workout room, and a mini-kitchen with real wine glasses and champagne glasses! The only drawbacks were (1) a call the first morning from the concierge, asking me to stop by to pick up my "welcome package," which was merely a sales pitch for organized tours around the city, and (2) one night I ate at the restaurant associated with the hotel, having been drawn in by an ad in my room promising "live music" on Sundays. There was no music, however, and I thought the meal was only so-so for the prices. Overall, though, I really liked this hotel and would stay there again.

Very happy with my choice of the Donatello. A large, comfortable room and very friendly staff. I'm happy to recommend the hotel as a place to stay in San Francisco.

“A hotel with everything you need !”

Great hotel indeed, quite comfortable and clean with plenty of services: free Wi-Fi internet,free complimentary BF, generous bathroom amenities and spacious suites.Enjoy drinks and listen to jazz music at Zingari every evening; friendly staff and a great location too! One dissonant note:noise from the street can be annoying; soundproofing windows would help!
