Beautiful hotel close to union squarePosted Aug 30, 2014
Great place!! Beautiful entrance and rooms!!! Stayed one night and had a great time. Walked to union square and back really no problem, just be aware its at the top of the hill. Still a little pricey for no view.

Worst Hotel I Have Ever Stayed In.Posted Aug 26, 2014
This is by far and away the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The rudeness of the staff is beyond believable. We were a little noisy which admittedly a little unacceptable on our part however instead of asking us to keep it down, they asked is to leave with no warning or request to keep it down leaving us with nowhere else to go which is totally unacceptable. Aside from this, the room was small a bit dirty and not what you'd expect from the outside. To add the cherry on top of the cake, my partner was offered drugs by staff there which goes to show what a classless place this really is. My advise DO NOT STAY HERE!!

The one and only Fairmont San FranciscoPosted Aug 26, 2014
Cons: The hotel deserves a less utilitarian spa
Location: It is in the heart of SF. Everything is in hill climbing distance of the hotel.
Our stay at the Fairmont was the culmination of our Family holiday along the West Coast of the US. We couldn't have hoped for a more beautiful hotel, better room or more accommodating staff than at the Fairmont. The location atop Nob Hill afforded stunning views of the City. My only concern is that other hotels will fail to live up to the same standards in the future.

Conveniently located; part of SF history!Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Location, atmosphere, cleaniness
A historical monument of San Francisco at the heart of down town. Well maintained and with food facilities.

Luxury in San FranciscoPosted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: History, cleanliness and high quality of furnishings and bedding. Loved the old photos!!
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Location: Easy walk DOWN THE HILL to Union Square. This hotel is high on a hilltop, not for everyone.
If you love history and historic buildings you will appreciate the pedigree of the Fairmont San Francisco. This is a completely up-to-date modern hotel with all the amenities and luxurious details you could dream of. A city view is worth the indulgence, even if it is cloudy.

avoid at all costsPosted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: its beautiful, the location
Cons: rates for nearly everything are outrageous.
Although the hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are very basic. They nickle and dime you at every single turn. Despite the fact that the room was very expensive, the valet service for the car was $70 per night and you had no in and out privileges. There was not even a free water bootle in the room itself. I needed to use the conference room and it was beyond archaic. The center itself did not have a person on staff and there were no pens, staplers or anything else one may need in addition to the fact that the printer was broken. I needed to fax a 10 page report because there was no scanning ability. the first page was $3 and the next 9 pages were $2 each. Also the on site gym was no better than any other hotel gym and in fact not as good as many. Despite that, to use it was another additional $15 charge. I will stick with the St. Regis and Four Seasons thank you very much. Oh also, we only stayed one night. Check out at 11. Despite this we had maid service knocking on our door at 8am! why would a room be made up before we check out?

Upmarket areaPosted Aug 20, 2014
Really nice hotel but if you want to be in the heart stay around union square. This is nice but a good up hill walk to get to town and back. Or you could catch the trolley bus

Great hotel in a great locationPosted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Location, facilities, staff and service.
Location: Ideal location with a great roof garden
This must rate as one of our all time best hotel experiences. A great location in a great city, superb service and a very relaxing bar and restaurant. The Tonga Room is well worth a visit just to see it. Highly recommended.
