Great Old School Hotel atop Nob Hill.

Pros: Old fashioned grandeur of a bygone era.
Cons: You shouldn't have to pay for wifi at a hotel of this caliber.
Location: Atop Nob Hill with a commanding view over the city... but that also means a heck of a walk back the hotel from below.
Had a great stay. Facilities, service, and quality were great.

I love the Fairmont SF. To me the best thing is the incredible staff. It's like they know that they are part of something truly special.

Lots of unanticipated expenses!

Pros: Beautiful location. Rooms were nice.
Cons: See above.
Location: Lots.
Suggestion from concierge regarding eating establishment was terrible. Coffee cup in room was disgustingly dirty. Internet was not complimentary. Gym use was not complimentary. Parking fees were outrageously expensive. It's a beautiful property. Just be ready for fees you normally wouldn't expect to pay at a property of this calibre.

Grand Hotel

Pros: The location, being a the top of the hill and central to our activities.
Cons: Include parking fee as part of the room charge.
Opulent and grande hotel; almost presidential. Enjoyed the stay and our room. The history appeals to us. It was a busy place, yet we didn't feel crowded.

Do not stay in old tower-stay in newer tower. Pricey for what you get,overrated.

Beautiful hotel, comfy bed and loved the walk in closet. Make sure to have the breakfast buffet. It's a wonderful location, quite walkable to everything.

Lousy Service

Pros: Room was comfortable
Cons: Loads. Too long a list
Location: CLose to the center of town, great places to dine.
They got it wrong right from the booking. They sent me an open and used bottle of Jam with my croissant. When I called In room dining about it, they apologized, but didn't offer to send another bottle. Considering there is a $5 room service charge and a 20% gratuity over that, I think this service was unacceptable. Has to be one of my worst Fairmont experiences. The waiter in the coffee shop in the lobby was very specific that he had just one coffee machine and he was just the one staff waiting at that time(3pm) and as such the Espresso would take 15 mins. Like I said, Lousy service. For that money, I'll stay elsewhere. Has to be one of my worst Fairmont experiences.
