“Excellent value for premier location”

This hotel was a little less opulent than its neighbors (the Fairmont & the Mark Hopkins). However, we loved the fact that it wasn't as flashy. It was more cozy and intimate than the larger hotels and super plush & comfortable. The staff made us feel completely at home and was extremely attentive without being intrusive. Our room--a small suite with a king bed & living area--had a glorious view of the city, overlooking the Grace Cathedral and the park. Can't wait to stay again.

“Lovely small hotel.”

Called ahead and asked to be placed in one of their renovated rooms and they said they would do there best. Once we arrived around 8 to check in, they informed us we were upgraded to the 12th floor. The room was spacious with a spectacular view over the city. Bathroom large, two sinks, and shower, marble countertops. From when we arrived to the minute we left the staff was so polite and helpful. Valet is around $44/night, but door men take care of anything and are so pleasant to deal with! I would absolutely stay here again!

“The Best in SF”

We LOVE this hotel! The environment is elegant and sophisticated, and the neighborhood is quiet and beautiful yet close to everything. The staff is helpful and polite, and the food in the restaurant is excellent~

“A Hotel with Character”

A classic gem of a hotel. We have stayed here for years. It is an older hotel, but had character/

“All in all FANTASTIC!”

Every Christmas my husband and myself go to the city by ourselves for alittle week-end getaway before the Christmas rush. This year was by far the best hotel we have ever stayed. Everything was great from checking in to valet, the staff was fantastic. We like to try different hotel every year but this one we will return.

“Great hotel for tourists”

We love traditional hotels...great piano bar and ambience. Only recommendation would be to have a King bed in our large room. Doesn't make sense! Great place, though.

“Great Location”

This hotel is on top of Nob Hill where you are away from the bustle of downtown yet only four blocks from Union Square. There is an excellent restaurant (The Big Four) right in the hotel any many good ones within walking distance.

“Beautiful hotel in a great location”

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was beautifully appointed very quiet. There's a great bar downstairs and the staff treated us like royalty. Plus, the location was perfect - right on the cable car line and within walking distance of lots of great eating and shopping. We didn't get a room with a view, but I bet it would be worth the splurge.
