Sehr gute Anbindung zum Zentrum

Posted Jul 4, 2015

Going through remodel

Posted Jun 13, 2015
Hotel seems like a an older apartment or motel that's going through a remodel. It's in a good location and quiet but lobby is just a little space in the garage and bathroom floors were dirty. Fixtures in room really stuck. Also fitness center is 8 blocks away. Staff were very nice though. Room itself was good size. It might be nice in a month but not recommended now.

Hi, and thanks for your patience while we were undergoing that heavy work at the entry area. It is quiet and smooth sailing now! The fitness center will be installed in July with brand new equipment, and even some outdoor access - stay tuned!

Not Yet a Kimpton Hotel - Under Construction

Posted Jun 2, 2015
Pros: The staff were very accommodating. The rooms were recently renovated.
Cons: Travelers should be warned in advance that the hotel is undergoing significant renovations. There's no lobby or restaurant.
Location: It is located in Japan Town which is a quiet neighbourhood with not much to do or see. The restaurants are good and it is a short bus ride to Union Sq
It was a disappointing experience if you are expecting a Kimpton Hotel. The location was disappointing because there's not much to see or do in the area given the many exciting neighbourhoods in San Francisco.

Hi, Toronto traveler, I hope that you will come and give us another shot now that that construction issue is behind us. We love this neighborhood and hope to show you SF through locals' eyes: no postcard or t-shirt shops, just upscale shopping, dining, and easy public transit! We also have some more Kimpton features in full swing now like a nightly lobby wine party -- to which we have of course added sake ;)

Nice hotel across Japantown with good bar/eateries

Posted Jun 2, 2015
Didn't know hotel was under renovation. Construction going on on the lobby and it wasn't pretty. They should have lowered their price more to compensate for the inconvenience. And I wasn't informed that the parking fee is almost $40/night when I could hardly find a parking space. Ended up being instructed to park at the disabled parking with a permit number given to me for display on the windshield. However, the room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. Staff too was very helpful and accommodating. Cafe Mums' downstairs served good breakfast and service was fast.

Under Construction

Make sure the construction is completed before you go. The hotel smelled and was loud and dusty.

You are safe now! I'm sorry that end of May/beginning of June was a bit of a mess at the garage entry. That is behind us now -- and the lobby look is stunning. Please let me know how we can take good care of you on your next visit :).

Be Nice when it's Finished

Posted May 19, 2015
Am sure this is not a true reflection under 'normal' conditions but the hotel was undergoing considerable renovation work that I was not made aware of prior to booking Other than being placed by the lifts (recommend avoiding) the room was clean & comfortable Hotel in great spot situated in Japan Town with short walk to Van Ness Ave and main bus routes unless you're looking for more central bustle of Union Sq etc

Hello, traveler. I know that the renovations in the lobby took a loud turn on May 18th and I am so glad that it was just one day of heavy work. The construction does still turn up a bit of dust here and there, but noise impacts are minimal and confined to the hours of 9am to 6pm. I am glad to see that you found the hotel so comfy and clean, and hopefully you'll be back to see us after our re-launch! We are looking forward to presenting ourselves as a neighborhood pied-a-terre, an alternative to the hustle bustle of downtown as you mention.
