Would not be my first pick.Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Not Much
Cons: Staff could change their attitude. Sound proof the rooms a lot better.
The hotel is in a great location. The staff looked very disinterested on arrival and were not to helpful. The hotel looked like they had attempted to give it a face lift on t $2 budget and it showed. We noticed on the first night after a spending 18hrs on the road that you could hear everything going on in the next room and throughout the hotel. Road and street noise is to be expected being in the inner city but this was too much. The two windows in the room had broken locks on them so they were not secure. Their was access from the building next door meaning anyone if they wanted, could get into our room. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay anymore than one night.

Hotel downtown San FranciscoPosted May 14, 2015
Pros: Very noisy: noises from the high traffic streets and noises from next rooms' guests. Wifi connection is very weak, and connection extremely slow
Cons: Noise isolation and better wifi coverage for business work
Location: Close to downtown and Moscone center, lots of homeless people around
Good location at walking distance to downtown Union Square and Moscone center. The rooms on the street side are very noisy from the constant high traffic throughout the night. In addition, noise isolation between rooms is real bad and you can hear all next room conversation ! Wifi connection is very weak and at can barely be connected only in one area of the room, of course not at the working table. Do not expect to do any work or even consult the Internet since once connected, the speed is extremely slow due to errors coming from the weak connection. The staff people are nice and do their best to help.

Good LocationPosted May 10, 2015
Is in a good location but however hotel service is poor. They stuck us in a tiny corner room where traffic noise was loud. Overpriced!

Antique Hotel in the Middle of Busy San FranciscoPosted May 7, 2015
Pros: Extremely tidy, awesome staff, great housekeeping and really advantageous location to many town centers, and a short 10-15 minutes drive from SFO.
Cons: The water pressure in the bathroom could be better, but then again it's an old building so I learned to take showers when the system was off-peak.
Location: Extremely near the Moscone Center, Powell BART station, and SF Caltrain station, and even the SF cable car, which makes for very convenient travel.
Coming to San Francisco to attend a conference at the Moscone Center, which is just a couple of blocks down, The Pickwick Hotel looks very unassuming from the outside. Yet, when I entered the lobby and subsequently the room they allocated to me, I was pleasantly surprised beyond a doubt. The room was very tidy, luxurious even in its slightly older modern style. It was well furnished with a good bed, working desks and even a Keurig Coffee machine (that could also serve as a hot water boiler) and even had complimentary WiFi (which is unparalleled to me, as I still needed to work during my stay). The staff were very courteous, giving me directions to places around California via the public transport systems like the MUNI, BART and Caltrain. Housekeeping did an excellent job helping to tidy the room promptly everyday, and as such I was happy to leave small tips every day. If I need to come back for another conference or just to get a place in San Francisco that was in the more busier parts of town, this would be my hotel to be.

Pickwick hotel San FranPosted May 2, 2015
Spent a month travelling around California with friends and had pre-booked some places and just randomly rocked up to others including hostels and motels. We pre booked pickwick as we were spending 5 days in the city. At first we thought good choice with the hotel based on looks when we arrived but soon after we realised it wasn't great. Rooms were very noisy from both thin walls and doors to adjoining rooms and the noise of the Main Street which runs along the front of the building. The wifi was terrible and very unreliable. We got Phonecalls to our room at 3am from reception and again at 8am....which were mistakes which happened 3 times. Do not disturb signs weren't read by cleaning staff who walked in early morning regardless. Most likely wouldn't stay here again. If I were going to San Fran again (which I will cause it was amazing) I would stay fishermans wharf, north beach areas instead.

Nice hotel, kind of small.Posted Apr 27, 2015
The room was super comfortable and everything smelled and looked super clean! The staff was great and the hotel location is walking minutes from market street. The ONLY drawback for us was that the room and bathroom were sort of small. There was not really any space for our toiletries in the bathroom. Other than that, excellent room! We will stay here again and recommend to anyone!! ☺️☺️

Felt very out dated and in need of repair. There was no sound buffering from the room next to me or the street. On the plus side the staff was nice and helpful.

Wonderful, Cozy hotelPosted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: Loved the decor, charm and history of the hotel. Several seating areas to enjoy and the attached restaurant was very good.
Cons: More hot water and more reliable wi-fi (I used my cell hotspot some and it worked great).
Location: The location is wonderful and very close to shopping, tours, business area etc. I was able to walk to Union Square and enjoy a bus tour.
I was in San Francisco on business and needed a hotel for 2 nights. I happened upon the Pickwick Hotel and booked it because it was close to the location and not as expensive as others in the area. I was extremely pleased with the hotel and will stay here again for business and pleasure.
