Provide free wifi!!

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: The doormen
Cons: Free wifi and somewhere nice to have a snack and drink during the day
Location: Great location and lots nearby
Really good hotel with excellent door staff in particular but they really should provide free wifi. Do the hotel not realise how desperate and sad it looks when everyone is standing around in the lobby on their devices in the early evening. You can't even go into the bar as the wifi doesn't extend to there.

Good first visit to San Fran, charming hotel.

Pros: Spacious and comfortable room. The complimentary bottled water and coffee each night was nice.
Cons: Get rid of the swarm of flies by the front entrance. Better rate for parking and WiFi. Hire staff with personality.
Location: Location was awesome. The center of everything and lots of good food in all directions. Do the bus tour for a day or so to get a lay of the land.
The hotel was okay; however, there were a few things that I expected to get for the price that was missing. It was an old and quaint place with a clean comfortable room; however, the swarm of flies that congregated by the front door was annoying. The staff was very casual and not overly friendly, and the concierge (other than Chris) service was less than accommodating, and the female (not sure of her name) was down-right condescending. Chris was helpful; however, the cost of the rental car was twice the cost as we were quoted when we first called. The cost of the parking was so extreme, we found it easier to rent a car and return it daily, in order to keep from paying the $60 per night parking, then we found out that the car stayed there anyway. The 2nd car we got was for a trip to Monterey, and it didn't have cruise control....I didn't know cars came without cruise control these days. It would have been nice to have the concierge insist on the comfort of the customers. I would have liked a small frig in the room, and maybe a microwave in the room. Overall, there were issues with the stay, but the hotel was nice.

Close to all main tourist attractions

Pros: The staff were incredibly friendly. The rooms were very nice and clean and the hotel itself was very quiet. Nice spa facilities and pool/hot tub.
Cons: N/A
Location: Great location - couple blocks away from Union Square and close to Fisherman's Wharf. Relatively close to many great places to eat.
As long as you don't mind climbing (and/or taking cabs/cable cars) to the top of a hill, this hotel is wonderful. It is a mere couple blocks away from Union Square and a relatively short walk (downhill) to Fisherman's Wharf. The hotel staff were excellent and always willing to help. The concierge was incredibly helpful and provided us with all the necessary information we needed to have a wonderful trip.

First-Class Hotel

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Central location to a lot of restaurants, shopping, sightseeing
Location: Very close to the Grace Cathedral and Mark Hopkins and Fairmont hotels.
Our stay at The Scarlet Huntington was perfect! We were in San Francisco for a wedding and this was one of the hotels recommended. The service was impeccable. I was so surprised by the size of our room, especially for San Francisco. It was immense and not even a suite. A lot of bang for the buck!

We stayed at this hotel for one night after getting married. When we arrived the doorman immediately took our bags and had our car parked using the valet. The room was spotless and the old world charm provided an excellent San Francisco experience. We would definitely stay here again.
