“Great bargain, excellent value.”
Great location; clean rooms. Wonderful staff. Okay, the rooms are small. So are the prices. You can't beat the value! I'd stay again, and soon.
“sweet, friendly and economical”
Staff was extremely helpful. The room was small but comfortable and the pricing, extremely reasonable. Would stay here again!
“Cute, clean, and within walking distance to the cool stuff.”
I arrived early for check in and the lady at the desk offered to call me when my room was ready. That would never happen at a larger hotel. All the staff that helped me were very kind and courteous. The room was small but very clean. The decor was simple and modern. The room I stayed in was meant for one person and had a small window that looked out to nowhere and had an AC unit that did not blow cold. There was an additional plug in fan that helped out. The location was great. I was within walking distance to Union Square, and China Town. I was there for the Nike Womens Race, and the start line was only one block north, and the bus dropped us off around the corner when the race was over. This all happend by chance, but I will stay here again. Nothing fancy, but cute, and a great price.
“too small no air condition”
as title
“Small, Decent, Noisy”
The hotel was small (to be expected), decent and fairly comfortable. A couple of blocks from the BART and Union Square. The service was very good, no problems at all. Only problem with the room was that is was very noisy, we were on the street side and the windows were thin. Lots of street noise and the kind of noise that comes with being in an old building.
“THE NOISE!!! the noise.....horrible.”
In a great spot, very adjacent to the trendy Union Square and the Westfield with tons of high-scale stores. The hotel itself was rather small. My room was small as well, but since I was just one guest, it was fine and it worked. The bed was a little stiff but the sheets were clean and nice. The room had no air conditioning, which wasn't as much a problem since the weather is nice, and you can open the window to let fresh air in. I had a room that faced into the street in front, and at night when I was going to sleep, I would open the window. The noise that radiated from the street was TERRIBLE. I could hardly sleep!! And when I closed the window, it wasn't much help at all. The noise from people, from traffic, from the garbagemen, it was too much. Unfortunately this acceptable hotel with a great location is overshadowed by how noisy it was there, I unfortunately will not stay there again.

Will stay here again...amazing experience.
“A great stay!”
Over the years I have stayed at a number of hotels when I visited San Francisco. The Touchstone Hotel was certainly the best value I have experienced and I had a great stay.
“I would stay again”
Nice friendly hotel in a great location. Some rooms can be noisy because of outside noise but this is a budget city centre hotel so some outside noise should be expected. Staff could not do enough to help me. Turn left outside the hotel and within minutes you are in Union Square if you manage to get past the very excellent Tooleys bar down and across the street!
“Small hotel in an awesome area”
Small, but clean, great service with a great price in a fun area. But my room was too loud being right above the dumpsters and listening to sirens all night. Great if you are on vacation, but I was staying there the night before a big interview so didn't get much sleep. Double bed, comfortable. Thin blanket, given extra blankets and portable heater when requested. Clean bathroom, flat screen tv. Complimentary water. Easy access to public transportation. Would stay here again.
