Dismissive GM + 3rd Party Parking Garage

Pros: Alana, the front desk girl. She was more than willing to help in a time where we needed assistance & everyone else walked away.
Cons: Mention the hotel uses an untrustworthy, reckless 3rd party parking facility for valet & no one is responsible though we are entrusting the hotel.
Location: Location is central to shopping, eating, night-on-the-town, sight seeing.
First off, Alana (front desk girl) was very professional & accommodating. She was the most helpful out of the 3 staffed that morning. Bill (the GM) & Don (front desk) were both very dismissive about resolving an issue we had w/ our car. Don assisted us w/ our bags & we noticed damage. We brought it to his attention & he said to talk to a manager as he walked away. We were pretty dumbfounded to the response. We went to the lobby, mentioned the situation to Alana. She called Bill. He said that they are not responsible for any cars, that the parking garage they utilize valet for their guests are solely responsible; that there are 3 main garages all hotels in SF use & no hotel owns a parking property. He pointed to the fine print on the ticket which stated no one is responsible - c'mon... I said there was nothing mentioned on Expedia saying they use a 3rd party garage, it is not common knowledge for guests to know this information, & one would assume that the hotel takes care of their guests. He then calls the parking manager. He arrives & tries to hustle hard by being abrasive & rude, saying that he sees no damage & even if we file a claim we won't win. I asked Alana if it was possible to just comp 1 night of parking, which she more than agreed was fair, then Bill authorized somewhat hesitantly. We also left some items in the trunk, we noticed ended up missing after taking inventory. My background is 13+ yrs in customer service in tourism, food/bev, retail & management.

Fine boutique hotel - very friendly staff - quiet

I asked for a room facing the back on an upper floor - no view, but super quiet. Room was good size and bed was super comfy. Staff was very friendly.

Nice hotel. Exactly what I was expecting. Rooms are not big but we just sleep there. Quiet. Friendly. Clean. It's all good

Pros: Renovation was perfect--they kept the character and updated beautifully.
Was looking for old but renovated hotel near center of town. The location is great, the restaurant was so good for breakfast. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Hope we can stay there again.

Good value and convenient location by Union Square

Cons: The doorman/valet service was a bit cumbersome. There wasn't anyone waiting at the door, but they did eventually go take our car.
This is a comfortable small hotel two blocks from Union Square. There is a nice staff and great little bar. Rooms are small but well-appointed. This is an excellent value given surrounding hotels. The Clift is right across the street, so one can enjoy drinks in their beautiful Redwood Room without staying there.

Wonderful staff, location good (few blocks from Union Square), room a little small. Found a dirty sock by the bed that wasn't ours, but overall would stay there again.

Great Location, Great Hotel... But...

Pros: Great location. Cool rooms. Reasonably priced room rate and parking.
Cons: Make the rooms not smell and make the water in the shower hotter!
Location: Great location, in the heart of Union Square near everything!
The location of the hotel is great. The room was small, but fine for our time in San Francisco. The room; but for a hair ball and a peanut on the floor was was clean (we didn't like to see this though). The bed was nice and firm and the sheets were very clean. The bathroom was clean and the shower was okay, there was consistent warm water, not very hot water though. I do like a hot shower, not a very warm one... The hotel staff was nice and helpful. But, and here comes the big, but and I hate to write this, but even more than not wanting to write this, I didn't want to experience this.... The room smelled bad! I hate, hate, hate, hate a smelly room. It smelled like a hotel room where lots of people had been staying in it for a long time. I have no idea how you prevent this, but other hotels do prevent this, but I am sorry to say, The Warwick does not. or at least not the particular room I stayed in. No, I didn't ask for another room, no I did not make a big stink (pun intended), what were they going to do, move me into another smelly room... So, we were there for two nights and the room was fine, but smelled bad and that is the worst to me. So, to The Warwick, I say, "Thanks for having us, it was pretty good, but the smell of the room ruined it for me. Please do what you can to get rid of the smelly rooms and I will gladly come back and love your hotel. Thanks!

Nice hotel downtown

Enjoyed my stay here. There was a slight wait for my room and valet, but the the hotel staff made me feel like my stay there was important to them and took care of me because of the extra wait time.

Cons: Smells.
Location: On the edge so sketchy neighborhood.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, exactly what you want when staying in a hotel. Unfortunatley the hotel itself was not exactly as wonderful. When we arrived we went up to our room but as soon as the elevator door opened the strong smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway greeted us. My daughter is pregnant and this was not good for her. Once in the room the smell was not there, however the room had a musty stale smell. The staff we were told was working on the cigarette smell. When we left and came back it was gone. We left again for dinner and shopping returned and the smell was there again. I think the hotel needs to have a check in place for guests smoking in the hallways. The hotel had been recently renovated however it was not done very professionally. The rate was good through Expedia but I would not stay again.
