“Good bargain for staying in the city”

The staff was friendly from the time I pulled up with my car to the time I left. The room was nice with a good view of the city. The price was a bargain for a good night.

“Great, Reasonably Priced Hotel”

This is a nice place to stay when you are in town for business or perhaps a couple in their mid to late 30's. Youngsters will probably not find anything excited about this hotel and there isn't anything remotely entertaining for children so parents should stay away. Now, considering the Yerba Buena is a bit of an adult oriented part of town, my observation should be obvious as parents and youth will probably be wanting to stay closer to the piers. The hotel staff are very polite and this extends to Ducca which is the restaurant attached to the hotel. The waiters are extremely nice and really make you feel important. I've also forgotten personal items from time to time like a toothbrush. The hotel staff gladly bring you up a complimentary replacement.to your room. As far as the area is concerned, it is downtown SF so expect insane bums and plenty of drunks (especially wandering around on market street). This particular area also tends to smell of rotten sewage when it rains. But again, this is SF, you'd be hard pressed to find a "clean" area. That small thing aside, I see no reason to ding the hotel review for the area. Also, for those of you looking to visit that haven't been in a while, I think it has improved quite a bit in the last couple years. Give it another chance if you didn't like it before.

“Loved our stay at the Westin!”

The room far exceeded our expectations for the price we had paid. It was clean, nicely furnished, had a great view and quiet. Good location; close to Metreon, shopping mall, stores, restaurants, museums, etc. We were very happy and will return again.

“Trade Show Heaven”

Great location for Moscone trade shows! Staff was realy vague on parking locations when I called twice listing Valet as only choice... there is a City lot directly across the street for $23 for 24 hours and another lot behind hotel neither could be missed by staff. Overall a nice stay.

“Nice hotel in a very convenient area.”

The Westin San Francisco Market Street is a very well-appointed hotel in a very convenient area. The shopping in Union Square is walking distance. Chinatown and Little Italy is not too much further, and the BART has several stops nearby. Even the fun SOMA (South of Market) area is nearby.

“Upgraded!”

A mistake was made in the type of room I requested. I had to wait to get the correct type about one hour later. I agreed to become a Starwood preferred guest, and then was given an upgrade. The view was spectacular!
