Close to Fishermens wharf.

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Close to wharf area.
Cons: Ask people to remind their children to be respectful of other travellers
Other than all the huge hills to conquer it was close to the wharf area. It is a basic hotel with enough to cover people like me that were there to sight see and needed a place to sleep. It was comfortable and clean but no bar fridge to be able to keep drinks or food in. Breakfast was supplied but issues with very rude people that sat for lengthy periods to just drink coffee and forced others to eat with food on their laps. Unfortunate for us it was school holidays and we had to put up with constant slamming doors and kids having tantrums in the hallways.

A day in San Francisco

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Close to everything, clean, and well maintained.
Cons: A way to leave your car there until about 5:00 the next day, even with a small charge.
Location: Wharf, cable cars, lombard street, all close and felt very safe walking up Van Ness at about Midnight.
We were in the City for a two days and needed a place close to the Wharf and this hotel was just the ticket. A little expensive but there were 25,000 runners and a kite festival going on and all the places were booked.

Good Location - Crappy Service

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: WiFi, Parking Rates, Breakfast, Front Desk Service
Location: Lombard Street, Pier 39
For the price of this hotel I would have expected WiFi that worked in more than just the lobby and breakfast that included more than muffins and toast. The location is good if you want to walk to the pier or take a stroll up Lombard Street but you will have to pay to park your car in the already crowded and poorly designed lot. I saw one hotel patron have to get another hotel patron to move their car for them to get out. Front desk not a happy bunch and not overly helpful. If you are self-sufficient and just need a place to crash and walk the sites then stay here. If you are looking for anything more than the basics look elsewhere.

Recent Stay at Travel Lodge by The Bay

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: The staff was friendly and professional and the rooms were spacious and clean.
Cons: Breakfast area could be slightly larger to accommodate the guest rush about 8:00 AM. If you get up early there are no issues.
Location: The location in near Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco and there are all kinds of tours and activities and dining and shopping.
The manager and staff at Travel Lodge by the Bay went above and beyond the call to ensure our stay was a good one. We have small children and requested a room away from the street and noise to ensure the kids could sleep at night. They gave us a room that was away from the main street. They also provided a crib for the baby. The rooms were clean and spacious. When my sister came to visit us the staff helped us find parking for her while we went out to eat. The staff was very helpful.

Average hotel near Fisherman's Wharf

Posted Jul 21, 2014
The parking lot is small so you may have to park at lower lots further away. The housing staff cleaned our room and left behind only 1 set of towels when there were 5 of us staying at the room. If anything, we expected at least 3 sets of towels; we had to ask for more towels. But, the continental breakfast was decent and when we asked for anything; they would deliver it in a timely manner so that was good. The location is extremely convenient. You can take the MUNI to Fisherman's Wharf and Chinatown within a few minutes. It's a good hotel if you need somewhere to sleep.

Not worth the price!

Posted Jul 19, 2014
This room was way too expensive! Close to wharf. You could hear everything from all adjoining rooms. Thought the upstairs occupants were gonna fall through our ceiling. The complimentary breakfast was a joke! Ok if you want cereal and toast for breakfast. The shower was literally a stall. Wouldn't stay here again or recommend this place. Don't forget about the $18 a night for parking that barely fit your car.

Pros: Convenient location.
Location: San Francisco is a wonderful city.
The hotel is nothing fancy, but a good value for what we paid. We were able to park the car in the garage and leave it and conveniently hoof to all the main points of interest.

Travel lodge stay in San Francisco

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Perhaps more insulation between upper and lower floor.Noisy guests above who roamed on creaky floor until late.(No fault of staff though)
Location: Handy to most things of interest.
Very happy with aspects of our stay in the Travelodge by the Bay in San Francisco,Helpful desk staff and quiet, clean room.
