Close to Union Sq. but super small room and smellyPosted Jun 26, 2015
The carpet really needs some cleaning. It's dirty and smelly. No one seems ever opened the window to let wind in. The room is dark as well. Overall not a good experience except the location.

Great Location but rooms could use an update.Posted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: I like the style and appearance of the front entry, lobby and the restaurant!
Cons: My room was a little dowdy and had a very small bathroom. The neatness of the room left a little to be desired, and was in need of a paint job .
Location: Great location with many Restaurants, shopping and theaters nearby.
Villa Florence is in a great location downtown right in the middle of everything including shopping and theaters.

Vintage hotel, nicely renovatedPosted Jun 24, 2015
There's a lot to like about this hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Lobby is well appointed; room and hallways looked recently renovated. Location is great. On the down side, air conditioning was a problem. It had a remote control but it was unplugged when I first arrived and I spent a fair bit of time with the remote before figuring out it wasn't plugged in. I had to use a pencil to turn it on (couldn't reach the button through the grill) . There were no instructions so I contacted the front desk for some brief instructions. And finally it's rather noisy. Bathroom was tiny, with no counter, just a pedestal sink.

Nice, boutique hotel in downtown near Union SquarePosted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: Location was great. Room was quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Wifi was awful. Didn't work in the room at all. Tried to get on computer in business center in morning before check out and didn't work there either.
Location: Right off of Union Square--restaurants and shopping galore!
This was convenient to downtown San Fran and Union Square. The front desk staff asked if we preferred a room on the street or in the back, and we requested the back for quiet and it was totally quiet--even on the night that Golden State won the NBA championship. Unfortunately the wifi was awful and the price for valet parking was ridiculously high. Overall was a pleasant stay but for the price disappointed with parking and wifi.

great locationPosted Jun 21, 2015
Pros: Freindly staff . Very helpful with suggestions. Grocery / Drug store a block away. Great location!
Cons: A lot of street noise.......I found the cable car bells charming, personnally. Next remodel, they might think of sound proofing the windows .
Location: We took the hop off hop on bus tour and our location was great for that. BART and Mall close by and grocery / drug store within two blocks......
GREAT location, with that said the Warriors had just won the Championship so it was a bit bit noisy from the bar across the street. But nothing but great things to say about this Hotel. They might think about sound proofing the windows and having blackout curtains the next time they remodel but we enjoyed our stay......the cable car bells , the minor street noise were totally acceptable considering the close proximity to Union Square....GREAT location ! Would definitely stay her again ! Hotel staff was EXCELLENT! Room was small but clean and had everything we needed for our overnite stay . Would stay here again.........

Older hotel but great location!!!!!Posted Jun 19, 2015
Older hotel but great location!!! Directly across street from Macy's downtown, Union Square. Walking distance to Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf. Close to BART, muni and cable cars. Many great restaurants in the area!! Had problems with air conditioning but was fixed immediately. Would highly recommend!!!
