over rated and not as advertisedPosted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: the young man with the mustache at check in, and the cleaning staff. good location too.
Cons: it would be helpful if expedia did not say it has a gym, since the gym is closed, and if the remodeling construction were not on an occupied floor.
Location: union square is very close, as is market street.
this hotel is in a good location, but they are under a remodel construction. many of the rooms on my floor were being torn apart (during the day, and quite noisy). the gym is closed, but they will send you to a place about 3 1/2 blocks away, somewhat convenient, but not like being in the hotel, plus when you get there you have to pay and then the hotel reimburses...not all that efficient, seems like the hotel could just pay the gym, or let you know in advance that the gym is closed and i could have chosen a different hotel. the restaurant - kuleto's - only had sourdough toast as a bread choice, and it was old and hard. they also only had raspberry jam, which is fine if you like raspberries, but i don't. and the big disappointment was that the advertised and promoted illy coffee is not illy coffee, but lavazza, and a cappuccino will run you $6, which is a bit steep even in european prices, and it's not europe anyway. some of the front desk staff was great, others stared ahead blankly and looked as if the day was long and miserable. all in all, i'm sorry i made this choice. another hotel would have been better, especially for the price.

Luxury in European stylePosted Mar 2, 2015
From limoncello and biscotti at check-in, to referrals from the concierge and excellent service from the front desk, the stay more than met my expectations. Conveniently located, creatively designed, and with comfortable beds it was delightful.

Great location and nice hotelPosted Feb 28, 2015
Very centrally located, friendly staff and clean rooms. The only downside is that half of hotel is being remodeled, so it is noisy and if you get a room on a floor that is being worked on, the banging starts first thing in the AM...

Right in the Heart of Union SquarePosted Feb 28, 2015
This hotel is right next to "Union Square" and is Fantastic. The hotel staff were most welcoming...even offering me a taste of the house made "lemoncello" while i check in along with a house made Biscotti...both were deleicious. The room was impecablly clean and roomier then many SF hotels. The ammenities were top notch and the whole experience could not have been better.

Too BusyPosted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: Location and the staff
Cons: More attention to what is reasonable when taking a booking and being able to deliver a service.
We stayed during a busy period and found ourself in a room that was undergoing renovation. It lacked some of the services, overlooked a road and very noisy.

Family VisitPosted Feb 18, 2015
My daughter and I stayed at the Villa Florence while out in SF visiting my father and brother. The hotel initially had us in a room directly across from the elevator--a very noisy elevator. I requested a different room, and the staff was very accommodating. The room we moved to was quite cramped and small. The bed was fairly comfortable and the pillows were hard. But the room was spotless and otherwise very nice. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was a disappointment, especially given the price. I was dismayed at having to pay a $20 administrative fee per day (plus tax on the fee) above the cost of the room quoted by Expedia. Overall, the location was convenient and it was a pleasant stay.

Cozy old hotel near Union Square.Posted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: Definitely the service. They were friendly and efficient.
Cons: The renovation seems to have skipped some essentials like sanding prior to painting. Doors would stick.
Location: Right near Union Square and all the downtown action.
Chose this place because it was a Valentine's trip and I wanted to eat at my favorite place in SF; Kuleto's (which is right next door). The staff are very friendly and professional. The place seems to be quite old but has been recently renovated. Pleasing colors and textures. The room was very small, but was appointed well enough. Be wary about parking if you're driving there or renting a car. It's quite expensive in San Francisco and I found it to be more expensive here than in other hotels I've stayed at there.

Nice hotel close to union squarePosted Feb 12, 2015
Relatively inexpensive, interesting rooms, very comfortable. Remodeling going on, so a little rough around the edges. Beware of fee for wireless internet whether you use it or not.

Heart of Downtown shoppingPosted Feb 11, 2015
Hotel was great. Staff was nice and friendly. Unfortunately construction is going on in most of the rooms so that might be an issue for some. But otherwise great hotel.
