You can easily walk to some local trails and other hotel restaurants. This hotel was a gem! We loved our room, the walls are a little thin but we only shared with one neighbor. Beds were very comfy and had lots of pillows and wall plugs. Staff were pretty friendly, our only “poor” interaction was when we showed up at 8:30 am after a morning hike and were told the breakfast ends at 9 am and made a little fuss over us arriving at 8:30. This was the best breakfast we had. the grounds were beautiful! we saw so many birds and flowers. Our only con was that we didn’t have hot water in our room the first night/morning. We don’t know if this was do to lack of solar available or if other guests used it all but we didn’t have any hot water at 9 pm or 6 am. The second day when we showered right after our hike 4 pm there was hot water. We would recommend this hotel to friends.

Outstanding service. Food is fresh well cooked, very good flavor. Comfortable. Hot water is a plus, it’s really hot water. Safe. Very nice cozy place.

Lovely setting in the valley with 3-4 blocks surrounding a nice garden area. Key activities are wildlife, especially finding the beautiful and rare Quetzal or walking in the rain forest. Restaurant is good, nice fire for cool evenings

Highly recommended for bird photographers.
A big negative is the steep rough road that leads down the mountainside; typically one lane and very bad condition. Not the hotel's fault of course. I had stayed at another property in the region, which is a lot more expensive, and not really worth the difference in price. Breakfast was very good, and the gardens and cabins are clean, and have basic, nice furniture. I would suggest adding a coffee maker and complimentary coffee for the cold mornings! The restaurant staff were very friendly.

Lovely rustic hotel in the cloud forest
We had a lovely stay. Unfortunately, it was cold and rainy. Our outdoor options were limited. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable.

For a remote location the hotel was pefect
Considering the recent storm the Hotel was able to cater for our needs. The internet was not available due to the storm and the mobile reception was out. The staff was so accommodating, anything we asked to arrange it was done without any delay or concern. All was added to the bill no question asked. The tour for the Quetzal guy arranged for us was EXCELLENT. We were showing our friends the area they came from Haiti and this was the highlight of their trip.

This is an eco-lodge...you have to remember that!
So, I made the mistake of taking little kids to this lodge. There is nothing for kids to do. It was a family wedding, so I had no choice, but wouldn't do that again. The grounds and the units are very well maintained and beautiful, the location is beautiful. The food in the lodge restaurant was very good, evening dinner amazing! All their food is fresh and I suspect they get it all locally. The room was big and beds were comfortable. The shower was a little rustic. You either had scalding hot water or freezing cold. There was no TV in the room, or wifi. Also, it gets very cold some nights and there is no heat in the room other than a small space heater. The room is also very drafty. The room was very clean tho.

Clean comfortable quiet hotel with excellent staff
This hotel is basic but very quiet and clean. Just what we wanted after time at the beach! The kitchen and reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The birding guide was awesome and so patient with us! He described the bird's features so we could identify the bird as well. One of the best guides we've ever had anywhere! Food at hotel was yummy and reasonably priced.

Romantic , scenic and serene
A bit hard to get to but worth the trip. Very steep n twisted roads but an awesome find. the hotel is at the end of a string of 6-7 other resorts so u have a variety of places to dine n visit. several trails n activities for all levels . The Hotel it's self was nestled in lush gardens, spacious clean n a real bargain for the price . The staff was available but not pushy. Excursions were offered but not pushed . Looking forward to a return

Beautiful setting, unreasonable managment
Great location, great staff and service, but I would recommend staying at one of the other hotels based on my experience with unreasonable managment. I originally booked 2 nights, upon arrival my plans had changed and I alerted staff immediately. The managment was rigid and would not refund my 56 dollars for my second night. Poor customer service as I would gladly pay twice as much for another hotel that would bend over backwards to gain repeat customers.

Beautiful Forest
Suria is at the end of the valley road, no traffic, quiet, walk to hikes. Good food, pleasant staff and reasonably priced bird guides. See the Quetzel!

This hotel is poor-quality compared to the Hotel Sauvegarde 1km away. It lacks any forest or walking trails - guests must use those belonging to Sauvegarde.

El hotel es precioso, las vistas, leo lugar y los espacios justos para descansar y conectarse con la naturaleza, pasar tiempo con la familia. Básicamente desconectarse de lo externo y conectarse con la familia. Las personas súper amables al recibir, la comida es deliciosa y con precios bastante buenos! El desayuno muy rico y las porciones suficientes. Hay opción de una caminata al una catarata del río Savedre, pero en pocos pasos del hotel puede uno verlo y disfrutar de él! Volvería sin dudarlo, más bien muchísimas gracias.

Muy buen lugar para descansar
La experiencia fue muy buena y la atención también! A pesar de ser una zona fría se pudo dormir cómodamente! En la habitación en la que estábamos le hacía falta algunas cortinas en ventanas pequeñas para evitar la entrada de luz en la noche y al agua le hacía falta un poco de presión! Pero en general todo estuvo muy bien, la comida del restaurante es muy buena!

Fue como estar en casa de amigos. Nos trataron con una atención muy fina. Mi compañera tenía una dieta restringida, y en la cocina hicieron arreglos especiales para ella. Fue un ambiente muy ameno. Los jardines frente a las habitaciones son bellas.

El hotel Suria ofrece un alojamiento tipo cabina, las habitaciones tienen problemas con el aislamiento del ruido puesto se escucha fácilmente las conversaciones y demás de otros huéspedes. El mobiliario no es el mejor y el servicio al cliente aunque se esfuerzan, no es su fuerte. Recomendaría Suria como un hotel de 70 dólares la noche en ocupación doble, pero no de 110 como pagamos en esta oportunidad. Ese precio se siente muy alto para lo que en realidad es y/o como se presenta. La zona y los jardines si es preciosa, lo que de alguna manera compensa las instalaciones.

Mooie accommodatie in het hart van Los Quetzales
Hotel de Montaña Suria is een nieuw hotel met een uitstekende accommodatie. Zoals overal in Costa Rica vriendelijk personeel. De gids voor het spotten van de Quetzals was zeer kundig en aardig.

No nos gustó el hotel.
Personal insuficiente. Moviliario escaso. Ni nevera, ni TV, poca calefacción, jardín embarrado, aseo sin repisas un solo vaso para dos personas, wc goteando toda la noche, último día sin agua caliente. Cama super usada con los huecos ya hechos que te dejan la espalda molida. En algún simple b&b hemos estado mejor y más atendidos. Se siente.
