The hotel is at the bottom of the river valley, close to waterfalls and surrounded by forest. The road down from the highway is steep and bumpy in places but not so that you would need a 4x4. Rooms are well equipped and comfortable. The lodge itself is attractively designed with a comfortable bar/lounge and an excellent restaurant. The area is absolutely exceptional, even for Costa Rica. There are mountain walks and trails, abundant wildlife (especially birds) and stunning views. This is a good place to spot Quetzal (Miss Miriams cafe in the morning is a good place... she makes excellent coffee and cake too) The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and professional. They will organise guided hikes and other trips. This is one of the world's special places. Don't miss it!
