An excellent hotel with a high quality room and a beautiful bathroom with a jacuzzi bath (used everyday). The location was slightly out of the centre and not as close to the main attractions as some you may come across. This was not a problem for us as a young couple as the nearest metro station was approximately 15 mins walk, additionally there was a bus stop outside the hotel which we used multiple times a day. Late at night we tended to get a taxi back which ranged between 13-15 euros. Overall it was a great stay and excellent value. If you do want to stay in the centre you might end up paying double for the same quality. An excellent hotel for those who don't mind a short walk in the morning (and saving alot of money in the process). Dont be put off by the grafiti in the area as this is all over Rome (like alot of other european cities), although there is none on the hotel. Although we didnt have breakfast, we ate at the hotel one evening and the food was exceptional.

"Nice hotel outside tourist area but close to metro"
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our experience was enjoyable and pleasant. The breakfast was delicious and included a variety of things to eat. Close to the train and metro, grocery store and eateries. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

We stayed here 3 years ago and found it an excellent venue. Hotel had all we required for a short visit. Excellent breakfast, plenty of good restaurants nearby, near the metro, bus stop outside hotel. It's within walking distance of the Collessium, Forum and other interesting sites. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. All we needed for our 5 night stay. We shall return again.

Nice hotel close to the Coliseum and Metro. Had issue with the sink and the show, but were quickly resolved by the staff. The front desk at check-in provided us with fantastic recommendations for nearby restaurants.

Comparing with other places Bel Ami B&B had a good review plus the night rate was within our budget so I decided to book for 4 days and 3 nights. We were greeted by a lovely lady and her poodle. The stay has both pros and cons:
-B&B is right next door to San Giovanni Church. However, depends upon the room if you are able to see the view of the church or not (like in the picture). Room 4 (where we were staying) the view was totally blocked by another building
-It's located within 5 mins walking distance of San Giovanni Metro & San Giovanni Bus station. Located 3 stops from Termini station (metro)
-It's near a hospital or some sort therefore will hear ambulance siren going off every now and then
-There's cafes/convenience/clothes/markets stores couple of walks away
-The room was spacious with a wardrobe (with hanger), fridge, small table & chairs, small TV and also provided with towels (1 each)
-the room was cleaned everyday, bed was made neatly and bins cleared. However, was really disappointed that they do not change the towels
-the floors there are made of stone/marbles? so don't forget to take a pair of slippers
-The sockets are different (2 holes) but you can ask for power plug adapter
-we had booked for a double bed but we ended up with 2 single beds joined together (which was fine) but just be aware you might end up sleeping in the cracks where the two mattress meets
-For breakfast we received espresso, juice & packaged croissant/bread, little disappointing

The centrally located San Giovanni neighborhood is named after the stunning Archbasilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, the official ecclesiastical seat of the Pope. Near Porta Maggiore, one of the gateways of the Aurelian Walls, the area is full of shopping, such as on Via Appia Nuova and in Piazza Re di Roma. Every year, this area hosts the popular 1st of May concert.
