Last night in CRPosted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: If we were staying longer the kitchen and washer /dryer would have been handy. Nice safe 'walled village' setting, very cute.
Cons: The washer/dryer was not in great shape. The shower was not very warm, shower head could be replaced too.
Location: We walked to a local market for a few items. Near a park and the major roadway around the city.
We were only there for one night but the staff were super helpful getting online checkin and boarding passes for our early morning flight. We decided to eat at the hotel Restaurant after our long drive into the city. The dinner we ate there was probably the tastiest meal we had in Costa Rica! They provided great service, a diverse menu, and expertly prepared. And the bill was very reasonable for such great dining. What a nice surprise.

Nice, but Not Four StarsPosted Nov 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is an odd place. It really is like a fortress in a very poor neighborhood. Most of the staff was very nice and tried hard to be helpful. The rooms had a kitchen but very dated, virtually no counters and pretty much useless. I looked again at photos on this site - they look MUCH better in photos. We choose it because we needed more beds for a larger family and we reserved two rooms for 2 adults and 4 teenagers and it was still a bit cramped, but just fine. The rooms with beds are so small that it's hard to walk around the end of the bed. We were on an all night flight and thought we would unwind in san jose, catch up on sleep before driving to La Fortuna. In hindsight that was a mistake. Here's an example of staff being friendly but not really helpful: When we arrived it was 11a and we wanted to have a nice lunch somewhere. The hotel has a full time concierge in the lobby and we asked for recommendations of where to eat and we got "well...we eat a lot of rice and beans here, so really anywhere that serves rice and beans is good"

Buena experiencia en generalPosted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: La gente Muy amigable, atenta, servicial.

Mala limpiezaPosted Sep 4, 2014 on Hotels.com

The entire Hotel staff treated us very well and the food was excellent. We would consider staying there again if the possibility was presented.

The staff was very friendly but we only had 2 towels in our room, no kleenex and the water pressure in the shower was terrible and there was only lukewarm water for our showers.

Prima hotel voor een eerste nacht in Costa RicaPosted Aug 16, 2014
We huurden twee suites in dit hotel. Die waren netjes en ruim met twee slaapkamers en een extra bed in de woonkamer. Restaurant ter plekke was prima. Personeel was aardig.

Great Place to Stay When Visiting San JosePosted Jul 24, 2014 on Hotels.com
Compared to other places that we stayed in Costa Rica, this hotel was top-notch. The rooms were all quite small, but they provided everything that we needed with the ability to cook our own meals to save money on eating out (and to accommodate a gluten-free diet). The included breakfast buffet was delicious and a great way to start out every day. The hotel staff was very friendly, spoke English pretty well, and was very accommodating. The hotel grounds were lovely and filled with displays of Costa Rican culture and agriculture. The hotel was highly attentive to security and cleanliness. We stayed here with our 3 kids and were quite comfortable. Highly recommend!

Nice hotel near San JosePosted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: The staff was very accommodating and the food was amazing! The taxi and shuttle service were great too.
Cons: The pool was right by the restaurant and had no privacy and no lounge chairs and the jacuzzi was off behind another building and closed at 10pm.
Location: The hotel location was good because it was near San Jose and other points of interest, but the neighborhood was questionable.
Our hotel stay at the Casa Conde Hotel was pleasant. The staff was very accommodating and the food was amazing! The facilities were a bit limited such as the pool which was small and had one lounge chair. The jacuzzi was not near the pool and closed promptly at 10pm. The gym was much better with a variety of equipment and in an open room with nearby restrooms. Taxi and shuttle service were great!
