Very close to airport with American style amentity

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: It's very new and clean as well as being very close to the airport and car rental agency (Europcar).
Cons: Room had a very strong smell of cleaning supplies (Lysol)?
Location: Set back behind small strip mall with several restaurants and Walmart.
Nice hotel for with free shuttle leaving every half hr for airport. Walmart next door for items you might need, several restaurants in front of hotel. Very convenient access to Europcar rentals. Pool is very small and has no shallow end, 4 ft depth which is nice because it keeps the ankle biters and diaper clad kids out of the pool. Rates in area can be half of this hotel but it's a nice hotel, even by American standards and it's very convenient to airport, other places may say they are close but with the mazes of San Jose anything over 3 miles could mean 20-30 minute drive. Most flights leaving San Jose leave very early so being close is worth the money.

Cons: Customer service upon check in.
the shuttle to the airport was super prompt, rooms extremely clean and comfortable. Had a lot of restaurants withing walking distance. The only negative (which was small) was the woman who checked us in should have told us our room # and directed us to the elevators. If she had been a little more "customer service" friendly i would have choosen excellent across the board.!!!

Close to airport

Got there late and left the next morning. This is where we chose to spend the night before our flight back home. Having breakfast included in our stay would have been nice, since it was not very good. $8 for toast and fruit or $18 for a below average buffet.

Great hotel to sleepover for an early flight

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Clean and friendly staff.
Cons: The dining room and menu.
Good and pleasant service, clean accomodations and an ok menu for dining (passable, not great but not at all bad). The pool was tiny and good for a quick dip but not possible to swim and the gym was empty and with equipment in great shape. Would recommend hotel as a quick ride to the airport for an early flight the next day (free shuttle the hotel provides on the hour starting at 4am) but certainly not a hotel to spend time in for a vacation.

Expensive. The but earned.

The hotel is located closest to the SJO airport of the competition. The facility and staff were first class. I just do not need that expensive an Hotel to be able to get up at 4:00 am to make a 7:00 am flight.

Last stop before leaving

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: -location -convenience -comfortable beds -free shuttle to airport -free wifi -inexpensive -guarded parking
Cons: -maid did not restock coffee -shower pressure fluctuated a lot during shower -no concierge service for tourist information -ventilation in rooms
Location: -near restaurants and Walmart -Poas Volcano, Sarchi -Doka Estate Coffee Tour -3 hours to boat to Tortuguero, Jaco, Puntarenas
This was our last stop before going home to CA. We chose it because it was close to the airport and we had an early morning flight. The lobby was nice and there was a dining facility in house. The weird thing was the requirement of key cards for the elevators and air conditioning in your room. Security must be a big issue in Alajuela, as we found out driving around town (police in pairs walking all over and metal bars on homes, barbed wire on a few monasteries?). Anyway, this location was perfect for a visit to Poas Volcano, Sarchi, or Doka Coffee tour (didn't do this). The room on the fourth floor itself had no ventilation (no windows to open to fresh air) and it smelled of carpet and fabric and whatever else is in the room. Once the air conditioning was on, the smell became less prominent. There was a mini frig and coffee maker and flat screen TV and free wi-fi, which we utilized. There was a pool and weight room which we did not check out. Beds were comfortable and we only stayed two nights. There is a Walmart very close by and restaurants also, 1 minute walk, for water, munchies, etc., very convenient. Overall, it worked and it was inexpensive $89 per night. Also, you can pay your departure tax at the front desk instead of the airport. Not sure if it was a little more at the hotel ($132 for 4 people) than the airport, but it was one less thing to worry about.

Great Airport Hotel

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Its a convenient hotel. Great Staff, very helpful. Internet works well. Right beside a Wal-mart. Dinner is just right.
Location: Near Airport, works well when you have to take the 6AM flights.
Very prompt and helpful staff. Front desk staff recomended I buy the CR exit tax at the hotel, this saved me from a long line at the airport.

Close to the airport

Posted Jun 23, 2014
This was our last night in Costa Rica for our family of 4. We needed something close to the airport, since our flight was leaving at 6.15 am. There was a shuttle at 4 am that brought us to the airport the next day, which was great! The room we were in had 2 queen size beds, was clean and looked very nice. Bathroom was clean, but it had only 3 towels for the 4 of us. They provided another one without any fuss after we requested it. The swimming pool was not very large, but well kept and clean, but after having spend a week in beautiful lush green environment, the lack of greens was a bit of a downer. The exercise room had beautiful new equipment. Overall it fitted our needs beautifully and I would recommend it.
