Do not stay at here!

I am not sure how this hotel was rated a five star hotel, but I was extremely disappointed during my 2- night stay. The room smelled like mildew, including the towels. The closet light had a short circuit which kept going off in the middle of the night. There was no live band as their information stated, our room service plate remained outside our door all day/night. The breakfast buffett was mediocre. The hotel is not located within a safe walking distance. We spent the majority of time at the Sheraton in Escazu. Overall disappoint and the worst place I've stayed anywhere... ever. Highlights- Japanese restaurant and access to the neighboring gym. The service was decent.

I have stayed at this Crowne Plaza in the past. The staff is wonderful and helpful. It has been upgraded. I will go back again!

Nice hotel close to center of city

Pros: Appearance, responsiveness of staff, including restaurant. Tour operator helpfulness.
Cons: Consistency of maid service.
Location: Right on top of Sabana Park (former airport) where National Stadium is located. Not far from city center or eateries.
While close to center of city, not in it. Supermarket across the street. Clean hotel, nice in appearance and comfy rooms. Maid service good but sometimes forgot to replenish things; however, staff very prompt to correct. Inexpensive shuttle to airport.Restaurant not bad either. No formal concierge, but reception staff are helpful and knowledgeable. On premise tour operator with outstanding service and tours, competitive prices. Wish the ATM had explanations of terms used, even though in English.

Walking distance to major shopping areas and park

Prós: O Hotel é bem grande, tem restaurante japonês, tem duas lojas, bom café da manha, cassino e uma excelente acadêmia. Contra: Forte cheiro de mofo nos quartos (devido ao carpete) e o chuveiro fica em cima da banheira (muito pequeno e desconfortável).

Sauberes Zimmer mit gutem Frühstück. Zimmer sind allerdings äußerst hellhörig. Man hört die Zimmernachbarn in der Dusche und Toilette, genauso wie alle anderen Gäste im offenen Gebäude.
