We booked this hotel for our family of 7 on our last night in Costa Rica because we had an early morning flight the next day. It was an easy end to our 9 day trip. We were able to do some laundry, grab some PIzza Hut nearby and enjoy an easy night in. We even returned our rental car early (the night before our flight) and used their shuttle service in the morning to save us time. The pool was a little cold so the kids didn't really swim but other than that, it was great! The front desk even hooked us up with adjoining rooms so we could stay together.

Pros: Amazing customer service and excellent location and facilities.
Location: It is super close to the San Jose. Airport and the shuttle runs very frequently from the Hampton Inn to the airport. Car rentals are across the street
My family and I stayed at the Hampton Inn on our way to LA for a medical emergency for my husband. The family stayed one night. I had to stay two because Costa Rica could not stamp my service dogs papers at the airport. Daniel the manager at the Hampton drove me to the University Veteranarian Deptment to have my dogs paper stamped. Without the outstanding staff (Anika) and Daniel I would not have been able to leave Cosat Rica to attend to my husband. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Customer service is amazing and the rooms and facilities were excellent!

Pros: free shuttle to hotel
Cons: breakfast option for guests who have very early flights
Location: right by airport but still need to take shuttle
Nice place to stay for our early flight (6:40 am) out. A bit pricy but very convenient with a continuous shuttle all night. Staff gave us good advice regarding the departure tax - we went the afternoon before rather than in the morning when lineups can be bad. Would have appreciated at least a pick-up or brown bag breakfast available at 4 am (complimentary breakfast not available until much later) - there were a dozen or more guests like us with very early flights.

It is very nice to hear how convenient you found our hotel, not only with its great location (being less than a mile away from the airport), but also because of the excellent services we offer to our guests and a very helpful and friendly staff that is always willing to help them in any way they can to ensure that their stay is going to be a very restful, satisfying and pleasant one. We always have our "breakfast to go" bags ready for our guests at 5:30 a.m., but if a guest asks the front desk for one before that time, then they will happily comply. Staff very friendly. It really helped to have free long distance calls, free airport shuttle and great breakfast included. Rooms clean and comfortable. Great place to start and end Costa Rica visit ...so close to airport.

Pros: I did not like that they gave us a room with one bed.
Cons: Not much. Just a little more attention to details at front counter.
Location: The location is excellent for airport.
I am sold on the predictability of the Hampton Inn. The place is always clean, the breakfast is always tasty and the staff is pleasant. We stayed here on the way out of Costa Rica. I was able to wash some clothes, rest up and get to the airport without any real hassle. My only complaint is when I got to the hotel with my husband and two kids (ages 8 and 10) at 8 p.m. after a 4 1/2 hour drive, through a lot of traffic, the clerk at the front desk gave us a room with one king size bed. They switched us after a phone call, but I was a little perplexed about why they would possibly think the four of us could sleep in one bed? They said Expedia did not have the two kids listed. I am usually careful to make sure I list the kids, so I don't know why that would be. But even if it did not, the young female clerk at the counter should have talked to us about it when we were standing at the counter, instead of making us traipse up to the room with our luggage in tow. But after we switched room, everything went well. The morning staff, including the ones who helped clear the breakfast dishes, were terrific.

The most important thing for us as a hotel, is to comply with all the things our guests want and request for their total satisfaction and comfort so when we involuntarily make a mistake as humans that we are, we do everything in our power to correct it so they can be satisfied and happy. We are very sorry to hear about the mishap you experienced when you first got here and we apologize about it, but as you wrote before, it was resolved as quickly as possible and everything was good and up to your expectations afterwards. It is great to hear how much you liked our comfortable rooms and all the services we offer (including our very varied complimentary breakfast and our shuttle which we are very proud to say is always on time and to and from the airport as fast as it can). Pros: They had free coffee and apples! Also a small convenient store to buy beer, ice cream, etc.
Cons: Windows don't open which we found quite stuffy and bad for allergies.
Breakfast was great and staff very friendly. Frequent airport shuttle. Lot of car rental places next door so you don't have deal with your car rental on the same day as you land/fly out so this saved us money. This is your standard 3 star hotel room.
