Pros: everything food,bar,and accommodation.people are cooperative and friendly. RESTAURANT employees are service oriented ..
Cons: not that I can think about.
Location: most centrally located .walking distance everything,MUSIUM,main market ,supper markets,resturants,all kind of shops.
excellent place to see costa rica buses ,taxises are easly available.main market ,GOLD MUSIUM,church and many parks,restaurants at walking distance.

A/C and water problems

First room they put me in,A/C didn't work. Second room they put me in A/C was too loud. Had problems with the water,for most of my stay had no water for the shower. And the hotel needs a new elevator,it's slow and outdated.

Well located downtown San Jose

Pros: The location and the pool
Location: Theater,museums,movies,veggie restaurant and a good pizza at El Patio Restaurant
The first room assigned had windows that could not open so luckily I got another one with a balcony and windows that I could open .That was appreciated ,the receptionist was quick to please my demand. The breakfast was poor in quality and a no friendly waitress among the rest that were standard ,no extraordinary service though. When checking out I asked for the bill and at first I was told that no bills because reservation had been through Expedia but when I told the receptionist that I needed a bill she issued one that was for $49.83 but the actual price charged to my credit card had been $66.40 .I did not asked for explanation regarding the diference in prices but I think there is something wrong in it that need attention from the hotel administration .

The hotel is convenient to all the principal locations in the city center, but is second rate. The facility has not been maintained very well and the staff speaks no english that I could find. On the other hand the staff was very helpful, the restaurant acceptable and met the minimum standards. If you want comfort or aesthetics, this is not the place. However if you want a convenient place to stay at a moderate rate that meets the minimum standards for a hotel, then not a bad choice.

Pros: Roomy rooms clean and clean bathrooms. a lot for the value.Very respectful and friendly personne.
Cons: They have to install a brand new elevator, especially since they only have one elevator. apparently their elevator is as old as the hotel itself.
Location: Stores, restaurants, fast food, pharmacy, church, post office, "millions of buses" going to all points of the country, running every 5 minutes.
it would have been a thoroughly satisfactory stay had it not been for their inoperative ONLY elevator. It broke down twice and luckily it was fixed the first before I went back to my room The second time it broke down it was the night before checkout so I had to climb 4 stairs up and down. If I am not assured in writing that they are going to install a brand new elevator, I would not stay there again. It's a pity becayse it's a nice well known hotel, mostly for locals from other costarrican cities, family clientele, nice people very respectful of others. Good hearty breakfast with your room.

Really bad first time experience.

It was bad. For starters the rooms shown on hotels.com which I selected is not the room I got as it wasn't available (don't know why it wasn't taken off hotels.com in the first place). Wen we got there the room was no better. It is litterally d place u call roach motel. Saw cockroach near my food had to throw it away as I don't know if the roach walked on my food. Starved that night. The sheets were run down omg! Was freaked out I may catch bedbugs there. Breakfast was no better, we chose d omelette breakfast which was being properly cooked to the guests in front of us, wen we got it, all the veggies n shroom was raw n the entire thing drenched in oil, fruit looked bad it was d worst breakfast ever. Again left hungry. The only Gud thing, the guy dat helped wit our luggage was nice.
