Pros: The hotel bellman and concierge is 'Javier' who is bi-lingual and will go out of his way to help you with a request - recommended !
Location: Close to restaurants and walking distance to park; bank; and other shops.
Palma Real is a very nice hotel in a convenient location. Their staff is very helpful and most are bi-lingual. Great breakfast buffet and afternoon happy hour! They have a casino next door if you want to gamble a little. Excellent value for what I spent - recommended !!

The hotel was okay but def not the best..Posted Nov 13, 2014
Well not much to say about this hotel.. it was noisy during the day with construction and Casino noise.. it was also very boring nothing to do and my room was really small.. no belconys but I guess u get what u pay for... I would reccomend Casa Condee or Aportatala la sabana they are awsome hotels in San Jose ..

The best staffPosted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Thee concierges, Javier and Jose, were awesome!!
Cons: Room furnishings
This hotel is conveniently located near the stadium and other attractions. It was in dire need of refurbishing but the concierge, front desk staff, room service and housekeeping were all excellent.

Good value for what you got.Posted Sep 8, 2014
For the price it was good. It looked like a modern hotel from the pictures, but the inside was a bit typical for the are. Good, but nothing special. I would recoend for a nice and clean place to sleep. The small casino attached, was OK. It was as expected. For the price, it was good.

Great value & location!Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Location, value for money, wonderful people!
Cons: The linens are getting a bit tired - but then so am I!
Location: One block from huge park - outdoor activities (soccer, american football, jogging, biking etc); $ 3 cab ride to pedestrian mall downtown with museums!
My husband and I stayed at the Palma Real for 9 days in August. He was competing in the North, Central, and Caribbean World Masters Championship at the National Stadium in San Jose. The location of the hotel was perfect - a 10 minute walk and we were at the stadium! As for the hotel itself - it was lovely - had everything we needed! And the staff - well, they were fantastic! From Javier, the concierge, to Juan & Sebastion on reception - and everyone else - we could not have asked for nicer, more helpful, caring people! Our room was perfect - we were facing the inner courtyard so it was quiet and we had a lovely view! The hotel has a small lobby bar, a restaurant (breakfast was very good), a pretty well equipped gym, free internet access (and access to two computers) and a small casino. We do not tend to gamble BUT the drinks and food in the casino were excellent - especially the prices! Much much cheaper than the restaurant! Would we stay there again - absolutely! PS do take in a couple of excursions - ask Javier - he will set you up!

Staff made the stay wirthwhilePosted Aug 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
The People on staff from Housekeeping to the Dinning Room and Front Desk all made the stay there worthwhile at the front door though is an concierge named Javier that has all the knowledge of the food and services in the hotel and around San Jose. his English is very good. He also speaks other languages but I don't so I won't comment on the fluency but he loves to help without interfering.

The entire staff made my stay there worthwhilePosted Aug 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
I found the location to be satisfactory. It was a short walk to the Bus stop that could take me anyplace in San Jose, although I only went to the downtown area once. A grocery store that carried other miscellaneous needs was about a half mile and I was told a bank was about the same. The staff was out standing especially Javier. His multi language skills , his knowledge of all any travelers needs seemed endless and he is always anxious to help without getting in the way of privacy. David

Great place for easy access to San Jose AirportPosted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: Proximity the the airport was my first choice; decent restaurant, pleasant staff.
This was my second visit to the hotel. It was a recommendation from Expedia for close airport proximity. It is an older hotel, with comfortable rooms and a pleasant staff, who go out of their way to ensure a nice stay. If you stay walk up to the gym on the 5th floor and out on the rooftop patio, great view of the mountains.

DirtyPosted Jul 11, 2014
Cons: transportantion to the airport anytime the client request it and all about the maintain
My room was dirty it looks like no body clean it after the last person. The restroom had "pubic " hair around, the bath curtain had dirt all around in the down border and the entire bathroom smell to urine.. the bed cover was not clean I could see the dust or dirt on top I arrived late around 7 pm and i was so tired for this reason I could changed hotel I took a taxi to the airport because I should request the transportation 48 hours what I was no able to do, anyway.. for the price should have transportation any moment the client request it. I won't recommend this hotel for the almost 100 dollars I pay there are many more close to the airport and cheaper.. Big mistake I did
