“Best I've experienced in San Jose area”

Hotel has a snack shop that is well stocked. Gym is nice. It is a 10 min bus ride to downtown San Jose. Runs every 15 mins. Bus stop is literally outside the hotel door. Airport bus also comes to the same stop. No need for cabs from airport. I didn't know that, and spent $20 on a cab on the way in.

“Comfortable and Clean”

This hotel is just minutes away from Santa Clara University, which is why we booked the room. The rooms has everything you would need for a nice stay - the mini kitchen was a plus, especially when it came time for breakfast! The rooms were clean and comfortable - they even had options for pillows! Free DVD rentals and a little snack shop aided in our relaxation. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to Santa Clara.

“Walking distance to Santa Clara University”

Extremely convenient to SCU and a clean, comfortable room made my stay extremely worthwhile. I was able to participate in many activities on campus and still get away for a break without feeling as though it was a slog to get back. Only moments away

“location location”

I have stayed here several times and find it a very convenient location. It is across from Santa Clara Univ, next to a free airport shuttle, and has free parking. The room is clean, has a small kitchenette, free internet, and a small store. Starbucks and small cafes are just outside the entrance. No frills, great location.

“Candlewood SJC convenient”

Very nice place. Clean. Place is older and would be nice to renovate to make it more modern. Still as is - good. Very convenient to transit line. Santa Clara University right across the street. Fast food eating places and Starbucks no more than 200 yards away. Appreciate free parking and also very adequate laundry facility. Too bad they don't have a pool to use for excercise or relaxing during warm weather times.

“Candlewood Suites? You're in for a treat!”

I enjoyed my stay in Santa Clara's Candlewood Suites. It was very relaxing - which is what I needed; quiet, clean, and a nice exercise room. There were various restaurants to go to close to the hotel. The staff was very congenial. I would recommend this to other travelers.

“Ok for a business trip”

I chose this hotel for its convenient location, across the street from Santa Clara University, where I had meetings. It is a very basic, no frills, hotel. It has all of the things you need for a business trip, but in no way do you feel pampered or like you want to stay in your room rather than go out because it is so nice (as you do when you stay in even less expensive hotels in San Francisco, where I am now!). The rooms have a few attempts at being updated (bathroom fixtures and cabinets, etc. but they are clearly cheap.) The bathtub is some sort of vinyl. No food other than the stuff in the little self-serve room where you can get soft drinks, coffee, cereal, etc. For the same price (or less), I can stay in a 4-star hotel in the financial district of San Francisco and have a lot of amenities, such as room service, lobby bar, etc. I wish this hotel had a less expensive room without the kitchen, huge desk and living room - just a nice room for an overnight business trip.

“Great hotel for its easy walk to caltrain”

Good hotel - clean and perfectly located next to Santa Clara caltrain station. However I was really disappointed to learn that they don't have any 2 beds option for standard suite. Even though it is advertised on expedia as special option when you book standard suite. Thus rating it 3 overall for misleading information on expedia.
