“managers take sortcuts”

i was awakened at 1:15 by a phone call which I opted not to answer - no one of importance knew I was staying there. Five minutes later there was someone trying to get into the room, i.e. trying his key card. I jumped from the bed and went to the window. A man with a suitcase was standing there trying his key. I said "room is occupied". He said is this room such and such, (which is was). I said the room is occupied. He left. There is no doubt in my mind that the manager had called the room (in the middle of the night) to see is there was someone in the room, not having the sense to keep track of which rooms he'd already assigned. It took a long while to get back to sleep. This is unacceptable. This motel has always taken shortcuts. They have never had an acceptable T.V. system. The T.V. has snow (like in the old days) and static to go along with it.

Area recommendations

Palo Alto is a high end neighborhood - the quality of the motels should be superior. Don't know why this one isn't.

“Would definitely go back and hope we had better luck with continental breakfast.”

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. It was when we went for our continental breakfast that we ran into a few issues. When we arrived at breakfast, there was very little food left and the staff didn't know what to do about it. They were very flustered, and we had to ask them if they were going to make more food. They said yes, but didn't seem to know how to go about doing that. They began restocking things that didn't need restocked...such as the yogurt and refrigerator items. Skim milk was sour, and coffee was gone. We had to wait about a half hour to bring in more eggs, sausage and potatoes. To my knowledge, no coffee was ever replenished. Other than this incident our stay was great.

This neighborhood was a very nice middle class neighborhood. It is well kept and clean.

“Uncomfortable Inn”

Bed had seen so much action it was nothing but springs. The bathroom too was worn out with to much action. A good location right on the main street of Town and a well worn out place. Also the desk assistant attempted to get me to pay twice for each room until I grew angry with him and he checked and realized that the room was pre-paid via Expedia. Overall it was too expensive and a lousy room. The Continental breakfast was held in the lobby and it was both extremely unpleasant and very uncomfortable to eat in the lobby. The food was placed next to the check in desk and was unpleasant and perhaps not too sanitary as well.

“Great value”

This motel provided a basic room that was clean, comfortable, and quiet (in spite of being on this first/street level). Bed was very comfortable. Excellent high speed internet access. Breakfast more than adequate. Very good Japanese restaurant nearby (2 blocks walking). All in all: great value for basic accomodations in Palo Alto.

“Noisy Place”

The room was musty smelling, the refrigerator moaned and rattled all night and the water was turned at night to do maintenace. If I had known ahead of time, I would have selected another hotel.
