An oasis

Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: cleanliness, friendliness, location, unique garden, large room, free wifi, free parking
Location: Muir woods, Sausilito, Palo Alto, Half Moon Bay
Garden and lagoon view offered outside our window offered a welcome respite from suberb/city scene. Our room was large, clean and staff was welcoming. Loved the apples set out each night. This is quite a find.

Nice overall environment, but facility is outdated

Posted May 7, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: furniture layout is not efficient. need to be redesigned.
Location: the restaurant across the street is nice!
Garden setting is very attractive, pool side restaurant is convenient. Food is good too. Parking space is limited, You may not be able to find a space in front of your building, but you can find one with in the property for sure.

Beautiful hotel for reasonable price.

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness, real friendliness (not forced), and amenities.
Cons: Decaf tea selections in the lobby (they had them in the restaurant, though), and as my door was near an outer door it shook when people came in.
Location: Cantor museum at Stanford to see the Rodins and other wonderful artwork, Bayshore preserve for hiking and bird watching.
I had a good deal through Expedia for this hotel, but it is usually less expensive than the surrounding hotels anyway. I didn't expect what was there. A beautifully landscaped grounds, happy people behind the desk, efficient and caring registration process, a very clean and well designed room, and lots of amenities. There is a poolside restaurant that I thought just served sandwiches, but it serves nice breakfasts and dinners as well. There are packaged pastries, coffee and hot water in the lobby (pastries in the AM), and a big bowl of apples, a shoe shine machine, free newspapers, computer center and comfortable couches. The room looked over the water gardens and the sound of the fountains drowned out any traffic or guest noise. There were apples and chocolate in the room every morning. Free Internet without a code, a stocked refrigerator that wasn't automatic, so I could use it for some leftovers, a safe, nice artwork, and a flatscreen TV mounted for easy visibility from the bed. I have neck and back issues, yet I had good sleeps. I will definitely return.

Something different

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Hotel was rather indie cultural and refreshing from standard hotels like the Hilton, and Marriot so forth. The staff was nice, Room was clean, and loved the little bridge lake scenery. If a person wants to try something different than the American atmosphere stay I would recommend this place. Thanks.

Right on El Camino with a secluded feel

Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Restaurant, ambience, restaurant, location were all great!
Cons: The bed was a little soft.
Location: Near Stanford, but good for almost any place on the peninsula near Palo Alto.
Very nice, quiet. Good restaurant ("Poolside") at the motel with very good food, especially some of their "Happy Hour" snacks. Heated pool. Loved it and would definitely recommend!

The rooms they block for Expedia are their worse rooms, they told me this while I asked for a better room.

Beautiful Well Maintained Hotel in Palo Alto

Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: Everything
Location: Stanford, Downtown Palo Alto
This hotel exceeded our expectations. The pictures on the website are accurate. The hotel has beautiful gardens throughout with ponds and fountains that are well maintained. It creates a serene and peaceful atmosphere that enhanced our college visit to Stanford. With the stress of college shopping, especially at an elite school like Stanford, it was wonderful to have a peaceful setting to return to to discuss the day. It is located just 15 minutes from Stanford on the same road, so very easy to get to, with several car rental companies close by. The restaurant at the hotel is adjacent to the pool, with wonderful food and a wonderful helpful staff. Also, they serve breakfast from 7 am-2 pm, so even if you sleep in you can have a relaxing breakfast. The lobby was pleasant with comfortable sofas, a choice of newspapers and good coffee 24 hours a day. Also the staff had very helpful suggestions on local attractions. We were also close to University Avenue and downtown Palo Alto. The hotel was quiet and not crowded, although it was at full capacity. We would definitely stay here whenever we are in the area. There were even fresh apples and Ghiridelli chocolates waiting in the room every night.
