The Best Place in Menlo Park - for the PricePosted Mar 31, 2015
There are few choices for hotels in Menlo Park - and most are 2 or 3 times the price of the Red Cottage Inn. You can definitely find a nicer hotel if you want to pay the price multiple. But if you want a reasonably priced hotel, this is it. It's definitely the best - even the locals will tell you that this is the place they put up their friends and relatives. The hotel is cute and quaint. It's relatively small - in all ways. The room is a bit small, the pool is small, the parking lot doesn't have a lot of spots, the breakfast area is tight ... But it's enough and what's there is well done: the room is nice and has everything you need: enough room in the bathroom, a mini-frig and microwave, a nice TV, and even a little patio with chairs and table by the pool. It's set back from El Camino Real so don't let the address dissuade you. And yes, the train is relatively close too, but we hardly noticed it - and only when train whistle drew our attention.

Nice basic lodging for a very reasonable price.Posted Mar 22, 2015
This will remind nobody of the Ritz, but for the price is an excellent value. Super clean room - nice amenities like a Keurig machine in the room instead of the old fashioned coffee-makers...and a wooden "lap desk" for working while in bed if you wish. Basic continental breakfast in the morning....close to just about everything mid-peninsula. Staff very pleasant - and I presume equally helpful though I didn't ask for anything in particular. My one suggestion would be to replace the apparently new shower heads in the shower - - it is way too high and un-adjustable, so you get the water over the top of your head and that's about it - - unless you're a visiting basketball player. I'd stay here again without hesitation - again...price to value was excellent.

Very nice and clean hotel ,close to Menlo Park. It is far from the road, less noisy and has beautifully maintained garden. Rooms are very clean and tidy. Recommend to everyone.

Great little placePosted Jan 14, 2015
Looks like a little motel from the outside, but the insides are well appointed and the maid staff does a very good job.

Lovely hotel near town.Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: It was spotless, attractive and accommodating. The bed suited us and one of us is very picky.
Location: Plenty of tasty restaurants and shops. Loved Café Barrone.
We had an overnight stay. The room was accommodating, the bed was just right, the amenities were what we needed and inside and out it was tidy and smelled good. The showerhead did not have much ability to adjust so that it came down on your head instead of your body but the bathroom was otherwise outstanding.

Overnight stayPosted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Close to main streets
We stayed there after a party so we wouldn't have to drive more than an hour on unfamiliar roads after dark.
