Stayaway

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Much improved on previous visits.
Cons: Management to walk around in the evening and try to get people not to congregate outside the rooms of others.
Location: We were on a golf vacation so that is what we did. We also ate at Sarducci's in Capistrano.
The surrounding areas are still under construction, but we had no traffic noise issues. Unfortunately, we had people very loud outside our room til after midnight..this is common in motels s no reflection on this one...it is a risk you take if you have a walkway outside your room.

Nice Atmosphere

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: The room layout made for a quiet stay, no sounds from adjoining rooms. The grounds are well kept and landscaped.
Cons: The breakfast could be improved by offering hot meals, at present not much on offer.
Location: The Mission, and nearby San Clemente and Laguna Beach
Very close to all the local beach cities and walking distance to the famous Mission San Juan Capistrano. Freeway noise can be bothersome on the balconies at the rear.

Good place to stay

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: It was clean; has pool & hot tub; has free continental breakfast in the morning.
Cons: Just keep it clean & hold onto the good staff you have!
Location: Doheny Beach & Park is near by, which gives you access to beach area in Dana Point - this is a great beach area!
We had everything we needed at the hotel, which has a pool & hot tub & free continental breakfast available in the morning. Hotel located right off I-5, but there was no issue with traffic noise.

California

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Clean room, good location
Cons: Area for smokers
Location: Mission, beach,
There was a lot of loud road construction just outside the room until midnight. Many people were smoking in the hallway. Even though I had paid for the room with Expedia they proceeded to Bill me for the night. Then they credited that and charged me $108.61 ?? Who knows why. It took 4-5 days to get that charge to finally come off. Clean room.

Decent hotel

Posted Aug 10, 2014
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The person at the front desk was nice and let my son use the staff bathroom behind the desk. Some furnishings looked a little beat up, but they still worked. We enjoyed the small pool jacuzzi. The continental breakfast was pretty minimal but adequate.

Next to the Freeway....

Posted Aug 8, 2014
...but quiet. Comfortable, well equipped room - good bed, Lazyboy chair, microwave and fridge. Pancake machine in the breakfast room rocked! We left two bottles of wine in the fridge and called at 11.00 am to ask for them to be kept for us to collect when we stayed again the next night and were assured they would. However, when we returned they could not be found. Our own fault, but a disappointment.

Freeway close.

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Yes, I realize it's on the freeway. Typically if I turn the A/C that's enough white noise to let me sleep. What they did not mention is that Cal Trans is widening the Ortega Highway bridge, and they work from 8pm til about 4am. Even though I requested "room on the quiet side of the building if possible" they stuck me upstairs, on the closest side of the building to the heavy construction. Trucks beeping, jackhammers, the works were all about 150 unobstructed feet from my window. That, and the A/C kept tripping it's breaker so I'd have to get up and hit the reset button.

One girl don't know name at Front Desk, very good. We came back to room one day it was after 4 and room not cleaned. Said our room not onlist. Construction going on. Lots of traffic. Not easy to get in and out.

Very poor desk staff............no phone etiquette skills,,,,,,,no interest or congeniality towards the guest......no conversational or desk manners,,,,,like they forgot who is the reason they have a job......it is not good enough to just assign the room and hope the guest goes away, without some genuine interest in the guest as a person ! More mature desk staff is needed. I have been coming here before the rooms were remodeled and the Inn has been made into a first class destination......don't spoil it with immature and non caring desk staff....give them a class in conversational skills and what it is like to treat people with respect, besides just "doing their job". "Just doing their job" is not enough.......the public they deal with requires more than facebook and computer skills or they should not get the job.

Pros: Proximity to the freeway and the Mission
Location: Close to restaurants, and points of interest
It was mediocre hotel. A bit of a musty odor in the room. But, we were able to check in early, so that was great.
