Absolutely Breath TakingPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: Everything! The owners, staff, location, view, meals, The really fresh fruit at breakfast.
Cons: A small fridge in the rooms would be nice
Location: Located on the side of a hill, a vehicle is required to get your luggage up and down. A walk to town to beach, shops restaurants is about 20 minutes.
If you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere, spectacular views, delicious meals (breakfast and supper), friendly, helpful owners (multi-lingual) and staff that know when to engage you and when not to, this is the place for you. The owners, Timothy and Dalphine, made us feel very comfortable during our entire stay. Although the rooms did not have all the amenities we were used to in a hotel, such as small fridge or television, they were spacious, clean. and comfortable. Having the bar (cold cervezas:), a deck to enjoy the views while we ate, the cool, clean refreshing pool to lounge and enjoy mingling with other guests if we wished and most importantly the company of each other, my wife and I didn't miss the T.V. at all. When we weren't taking day trips, we made the 20 minute walk down the hill from the hotel into town and enjoyed the beach, the shops, restaurants and cafe's. Looking forward to visiting again.

El Jardin is beautiful!Posted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: We loved everything about the hotel except the distance from town.
Cons: No improvement needed!
Location: The town is great for surfers, turtle watchers, zip liners, relaxers, fishermen, and hikers. Bring a group because lots of activities need friends.
El Jardin is the perfect getaway spot. That said, everyone should be aware that it is very outside town on a very difficult, steep, rutted dirt road. Nicaragua has rules on cab fares, but the distance, the dirt, the dark, and the steepness affects your plans on when you choose to go into town - especially with the wet weather.

Not bad hotelPosted Sep 18, 2013
Pros: Clean and quiet.
Cons: Although the rooms are not equipped with radio or phone or T.V. Would be nice to have a common area where guess will have access to those things.....
Location: Location provides a great view but there is not easy access to this hotel.....
If you want to relax completely from work go to this hotel. No T.V. no radio just peace and quiet.

Like Staying in a Private HomePosted Aug 20, 2013
Pros: The view, ambiance, cuisine and owners
Location: It's far enough from San Juan del Sur to escape the tourist thing but close enough when you want to go to town for restaurants, shopping, etc.
El Jardin is a super boutique resort (11 rooms) surrounded by jungle and overlooking one of the most beautiful bays in Nicaragua. The room was clean and confortable with air-conditioning, ceiling fans and daily linen service. The couple who own and operate the resort, (yes, they are working owners) are tremendous. They went over and above my expectations in order to insure our comfort and enjoyment of not only the resort but overall visit to this part of the county. The cuisine is exceptional with dining overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Both Delphine and Timothy are responsive to any request. If you are looking for a small, friendly resort which is also a good value, you can't go wrong at this one.

Eat like a king/queenPosted Jul 28, 2013
Location: I didn't leave the hotel!
I just left El Jardin and I could have stayed forever! The owners are lovely and try their best to make you feel comfortable. The rooms are nice, view incredible, and the ambience makes you relax immediately. The true joy of being at El Jardin was eating the amazing food. The filet mignon was the biggest I have ever seen (and cooked to perfection) and the desserts included homemade ice cream. Breakfast was huge every morning and delicious-made to order. I recommend this hotel 100%!!

Oasis above San Juan Del SurPosted Apr 3, 2013
Pros: Breakfast, the pool and the view
Cons: The rooms could be a bit warm at night
Location: Decent location - from San Juan del Sur you can easily get a ride to one of the local beaches. It is a reasonable walk to town (about 20 to 25 min)
We had a lovely stay at El Jardin! The owners worked hard to make our stay a pleasure! The breakfasts were delicious and the dinners we had there outstanding. The pool was wonderful after a long hot day and the view of the ocean and Christ on the hill are stunning! I loved that they had a shady terrace to get out of the hot sun but still enjoy the beautiful afternoons. We walked into San Juan Del Sur most days and then caught a cab back up the hill on the days we were too tired or hot to climb back up. The rooms and setting are very quaint and it is a fairly small complex so it was very tranquil. San Juan Del Sur can be a bit ruckus on the weekends and we were so happy we chose to stay out of town a bit. We recommend this place, it is great!

Heaven in Bahia NacascoloPosted Apr 3, 2013
Pros: View, service, and comfort
Cons: Too quiet. I'd have loved some background music in the restaurant during breakfast or by the pool. There was music at the dining rooms for dinner.
Location: Its on top of a hill, overlooking bahia Nacascolo (Pacific Ocean).
I loved El Jardin. Delfina "the owner" makes you feel at home. The place is very quiet, which makes it good for relaxing. It is located approximately half way between Playa Madera and San Juan del Sur. Breakfast is included and its made to order (not buffet). The pool is quite small. I would definitely go back to El Jardin.

The hotel was great and the owners were very helpful. It is a bit remote, and is perfect if you have a car but it would be difficult to stay there without a car.
