The Alta Cresta Orchard a great getaway!

Posted Jan 16, 2012 on Hotels.com
We arrived at the cottage later in the afternoon and the owner immediately invited us onto the property and showed us around the cottage. The cottage was stocked with breakfast food. As you walked through the cottage, and looked out the backdoor, you got a beautiful view of the entire valley. The cottage sits on top of a hill and there are no immediate structures around that would obstruct your view. The cottage also had cheese and wine. The cottage is equipped with Direct TV and so althoug you are very secluded one can stay connected with what is going on throughout the world. The kitchen is fully stocked with posts, pans and dishes. In the event that one would like to cook, there are the utensils to do so. There is an oven and stove as well as a refrigerator. I almost throught about cooking, but there are soo many great resturaunts in Cambria and Paso Robles that I just couldn't bring myself to cook when I am trying to relax. The following evening, we sat out on the patio and drank wine and ate cheese. The view and the climate were amazing and that evening was a great way to end our stay. Another great perk about the cottage, is that it is behind gates. I felt very safe in this cottage and knew that I did not have to worry about my safety at all. The location of the Inn can be a tad bit difficult to locate. We used GPS but the problem was that the GPS did not have updated streets and addresses so we had to improvise because we did not download directions from the website. If you choose to stay there, make sure you get a map because the location is secluded and off the beaten trail.

Alta Cresta -- great for relaxation in the country

Posted May 15, 2010 on Hotels.com
This is the perfect place for relaxing in the country, amongst the vineyards and olive orchards. It is practically brand new, spacious, and well appointed, with a nice veranda with a great view. About 6 miles from town, it is relatively easy to go out for a nice meal. My only suggestion to the hosts (who are friendly and helpful) would be to replace the queen size bed with a king with a top-quality mattress -- we almost didnt stay here because of the bed. The included breakfast is basically the fix-it-yourself continental variety -- dont expect a big fancy cooked breakfast. Overall a great experience that I would highly recommend.
