Good hotel

Helpful friendly staff. Clean, comfortable rooms. Small town so everything is within walking distance or local bus to see the sea

Great Value

Posted Jun 6, 2014
Prices are higher in SLO. This is a true value. Any problem? Talk to Sol, the fixer of everything. He is there to make your stay everything it should be. Great beds, tv's and a rain shower. And oh yes, remarkably clean.

My home away from home.

Posted Jun 1, 2014
My boyfriend and I recently stayed at this hotel, and will be staying there again vert soon, and while it might not be the Ritz it was our home away from home. The staff are very pleasant and helpful with anything you need, the rooms are very clean, comfortable, and quiet, and even the coffee at breakfast was pretty good. I have to say the best thing about the room was the amazing glass and marble overhead rain shower. It was so comfortable it really felt like home.

You're quite right, Angie. We're not the Ritz, but we do strive to make everyone's stay a memorable one. We appreciate the 4-Star rating! Hope to see you soon again in San Luis.

Very convenient to both downtown and the freeway

Posted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: LOCATION!
Cons: Continental breakfast. White bread [for toast], the cheapest muffins money can buy and orange juice concentrate...I couldn't do it.
Location: The heart of SLO is a healthy walk away; maybe 7 or 8 blocks? Great coffee houses, restaurants, bars, all in easy reach.
It's fairly conventional and old-school on the exterior; just another vintage motel. Inside, nicely renovated and very modern in appearance. Nothing fancy in terms of bells and whistles but very modern color schemes and textures. The bed was very comfortable. It was quiet and the lot was heavily planted with jasmine so it smelled nice! A pretty easy walk to downtown with all of the shops, bars, restaurants and farmer's market Thursday evening. Staff was extremely polite and very helpful with both questions that came up. I would definitely stay there again.

Convenient, but not the best value

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: Furnishings, hotel staff
Cons: Small rooms, breakfast options
Location: Close to SLO downtown and all the respective bars/restaurants.
The room was very nicely updated, but felt very small. Breakfast was minimal. A bit expensive for what it was.

Remodeled hotel

Posted May 27, 2014
There was a little mishap where the bathroom mirror fell off the wall. Luckily no one was in the bathroom. But for the price, and everything newly remodeled, and fridge, and we walked to the resturaunts and shops which wasn't too far. I would definitely stay here again! :)

Nice basic place to spend the night

Posted May 27, 2014
We were very happy with our stay. It is conveniently located, just off the 101, and a pleasant 12-15 minute walk from downtown. The room was recently and nicely redone, the bed and bed linens were comfortable. It was a really nice place to spend the night. The staff were friendly, and the manager was happy to book us for a second night at the rate we had through Expedia on the first night.

Good location

Posted May 20, 2014
Pros: Location and price.
Cons: New bed cover. Cable TV reception.
This motel from the outside looks like any other standard motel. The inside however has been nicely rehabbed replete with a rain shower, flat screen TV and granite countertops. For the money, it's probably hard to beat in this area and it's only a few blocks away from downtown San Luis Obispo nightlife so very convenient. Can walk to Big Sky for a great breakfast (skip the continental offered here unless you are fond of cereal and marginal tasting coffee). The cable TV reception was very poor, the bed was very hard (maybe some rooms have different beds?) and the bed comforter had not been replaced with the room remodel. It sticks out like a sore thumb, an old floral pattern and somewhat dingy looking bed cover from probably the 1980's, not sure why they would not replace these or perhaps they haven't gotten around to it yet. It would be better to simply not have on the bed at all. I think if returning I'd opt for a 2nd floor room as well. A little noisier on the first floor with cars pulling up and landscapers milling about. All in all, for a one or two night stay in a great area I think its a good choice.

Thanks for your detailed message, Jeff. We take all such words to heart, what with our "new kid on the block" status. We'll work on that coffee to make it better -- that's an important point. Please come see us again sometime in San Luis Obispo!

OK but...

Posted May 18, 2014
OK but the refrigerator makes steady noise, even when turned off. We had to unplug the whole system, including the TV, to go to sleep.
